Description: The approach to the Dockside Restaurant is all part of the Dockside’s charm. You are treated to views of the York River and the grand “summer cottages” as you turn onto Harris Island Road to reach Dockside Restaurant. The view is quintessential Maine, people hustling up and down the docks, gleaming yachts and colorful lobster boats in front of a rock and pine-tree shore. Dockside’s recent renovation is perfect, warm and comfortable. Hardwood floors, European style lighting floor to ceiling window and a new mahogany bar with an adjoining outdoor cocktail deck. During warm months seating is available on our harbor view screen porch. The atmosphere is casual but the food is serious. Chef Dennis la Planet has been recognized as a “chef’s chef”. North Atlantic seafood prepared with a northern Italian influence and aged steaks are just the start. Lunch features organic salads, creative sandwiches and traditional favorites; fish and chips, chowders and fried clams too.

“The Dockside provided spectacular view, superb service and delicious food.”
Reviewed July 12, 2011

We had a family wedding anniversary to celebrate but only found a babysitter at the last minute. With only hours before lunch, the Dockside helped arrange a surprise bottle of champagne, a lovely table on the porch and a cluster of tiramisu desserts with festive candles. Our waiter, Devon, was as happy about the celebration as we were. He made it all happen smoothly and efficiently. The food was outstanding; we particularly recommend the clams farfalla, the lobster mac and cheese, the onion soup and the fish and chips. This place has an unbeatable combination: view, taste and service.

“CALL FIRST!!”
Reviewed September 16, 2010

Took us a half hour to finally get to this restaurant because of the bridge being out and all the misleading detour signs to finally get there and find there was a wedding going on so the restaurant was closed. You think they would post a sign further down the road letting people know about this. Many people were driving away angry. My suggestion call first to see if theyre open before making the treck there.

“The Dockside Inn and Restaurant are wonderful experiences.”
Reviewed September 9, 2010

My wife and I have visited the Dockside Inn for over 20 years, and this year the whole extended family were there for a week. The Inn and Restaurant are superb. The continental breakfast (It will fill up the biggest eater) is just a perfect way to begin the day. The Restaurant is always great. A better place to vacation would be hard to find!

“Dockside Restaurant York Maine”
Reviewed September 7, 2010

Ate at the Dockside Restaurant in York, Maine Sep 1, 2010. Great service and Hospitality. The bridge was out due to construction- but only had a slight detour and just needed to follow the blue signs to the Dockside Restaurant- it wasn't a problem. Drove past spectacular views of the Ocean and York Country Club.
The food ws very good and presented well. Atmosphere was great and bar had good assortment of mixed drinks, wine and beer.
The view of the harbor, food and hospitality make this trip worth it.
If you want a relaxing atmosphere with fantastic views, I'd recommend it.

“Great food and great view.”
Reviewed August 28, 2010

We've now been to the restaurant 3 times (and stayed at the quest quarters once) since finding York Harbor and it's hidden gems away from the crowds at the beaches. Each visit has been great. The wait staff is friendly and courteous. We've tried the daily specials and their menu items and have been pleased each time. Steamed Mussels, Cheese Flight, Drunken Lobster, 4th of July special, Pan Seared Diver Scallops, Classic Bouillabaisse, Harris Island Haddock, Tournedos of Beef... all worth getting again. Best of all... the great food comes with a great view of the harbor.

One note, the bridge from York Harbor to the restaurant is currently (Summer 2010) under construction so a 5 minute detour is necessary. There are signs for the Dockside along the detour. A minor inconvenience for a great experience.
