“Amazing find along busy Rt. 1”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Being a native New England-er, I have been going to Maine for over 50 years. With the wife, we have tried most of the favorites that have appeared on all those top 10 lists of lobster shacks, etc. In many cases, you pay dearly for the view, charm, and atmosphere. But, you know you can't eat atmosphere(over paying hurts the digestion). As I write this, most of the "top 10" places are charging about $20 for a lobster dinner consisting of a single 1-1/4 lb lobster, an ear of corn, and fries or cole slaw. Fresh, yes; great views, in many cases yes. But, you can park for free and enjoy the view.
We just spent the weekend in Maine, and were driving along Rt.1 in York, and spied the Fishermans Dock, and their $19 TRIPLE lobster special. So, on the way home, we stopped. You would think, the last place Maine needs is another seafood restaurant/ retailer. Well, you (as was I) would be wrong. The big attraction here is value. Just recently opened with new owners, the food was very well prepared, and quickly served. Three super sweet lobsters, great corn, and tasty cole slaw, all for $19!!! We also had freshly squeezed lemonade. Exceptionally clean, as the new owners have re-modeled it (love that new restaurant smell). Very friendly, family run. They told me they plan to be open year round. I hope so, as we go to Maine for a get away a few times a year. They serve not only sea food, but hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. They also have a retail business. Outside is an area with picnic tables.
I HIGHLY recommend the Fishermans Dock, and we will be making this "our" stop in Maine when we have our getaways. Right now, they close at 8:30, so be sure to get there on time (we just barely made it). Bring your appetite, enjoy a great meal, then drive to the shore and enjoy the view for free, and feel sorry for those who are overpaying. Or, after saving some money in Kittery at the outlet stores, drive a few miles further to York, and save even more.Either way, be sure to stop.

“Awesome roadside find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

We were driving past this pace on route 1 and were really hungry. The lobster special pulled us in. This is a combination raw seafood shop and cooked seafood counter. They have about a dozen picnic tables set up under a tent-like structure where you can sit and eat. It is very clean and well-organized. The staff was super-friendly and full of smiles. They have everything from burgers and hot dogs to fish tacos and haddock to maine lobster. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The prices are a lot lower than what you expect for the quality of food. Triple chicken lobsters with corn and slaw for $19??? Wow! They serve beer and wine too. We loved it so much, we went out of our way to stop there again on the way back from our weekend trip. Don't miss this spot. You will love it.
