“Best Lobster Roll”
Reviewed July 25, 2014

We found this quaint little restaurant off the beaten track in York, Maine , we were looking for a place to get a Lobster Roll, so happy we found this place. The main restaurant was being painted so we ate in the little snack bar area. Best lobster roll I have ever eaten! Lots of lobster, little mayo hearty roll and the slaw was very good too, a lite vinaigrette dressing in a cozy atmosphere.
After finishing our meal we spent some time in the gift shop next door, the very friendly owner, kept us entertained and the size of the shp is deceiving, it was packed full of interesting souvenirs and other merchandise. All in all it was a great diversion from the beautiful shore area of York.

“try this resturant”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

We went to this restaurant on a whim. Very rustic, but quaint. You order from a counter and seat yourself. You are given a red lobster that buzzes when your food is ready. They really know how to cook a 3 lb. Lobster! The lobster comes with coleslaw, corn on the cob and the best cornbread ever! Definately a must visit!

“Fresh Seafood, great casual atmosphere!”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

We popped in on a very rainy afternoon (after seeing lines out the door the previous 2 nights) and were pleasantly surprised with the very friendly staff and fresh seafood. The place (including the bathrooms) was very clean and we had our choice of tables - we sat in the huge pavillion room which was perfect for our "picnic" lunch. We were brought our seafood - fried scallops and fried clams - and they were delicious! The cole slaw (made with apple chunks) was also a winner! Only misstep was the corn bread... Can't wait to come back for a clambake! And don't forget to pop into their little gift store - lots of interesting finds (in addition to the touristy items!) Really enjoyed Foster's - highly recommend!

“Mosaic”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

My review of Foster's Clambake is a bit of a mosaic comprised of the observations of other reviewers.
1. You will have fun. The atmosphere lends itself to groups relaxing and having a big picnic.
2. It is loud. See #1 above. Groups reach and talk across picnic-style tables. Things get noisy.
3. Gourmands need not apply. You are unlikely to get the world's best lobster...or clams...or haddock...or corn on the cob...etc, I don't know how many all-you-can-eat meals are served on a busy summer night, but it is certainly in the hundreds. 99% of the folks are there for the experience.

Speaking of AYCE: pace yourself and try to glide to the finish. It is all too easy to try to eat just one more lobster tail AND another bucket of clams. Trust me on this one!

“Excellent job for our Rehearsal Dinner”
Reviewed June 17, 2014

My son was married this past weekend and we used Foster's to cater the Rehearsal Dinner for us. The staff was a pleasure to work with. They were very accommodating by allowing us to change the number and kind of dinners several times. The Lobsters and clams were fresh, sweet, warm and delicious along with the clam chowder. The vegetarian option of a meatless lasagna and corn chowder was reported to be very tasty. The corn bread and crumb cake was also very good. The staff was helpful to those guests who never had a whole lobster before by taking the meat out of the shell for them. The cleanup was immaculate and speedy. They continuous came around to our tables and emptied the containers we put our empty shells in. I look forward to visiting their restaurant the next time I am in Maine. Thank you for making our event a success! I highly recommend you use them for your next Lobster Bake.
