this place would get 5 stars if they had good home fries-crispy, not par boiled, with onions and peppers but they do not. The fact that I think they deserve 4 stars despite lousy home fries speaks volumes since home fries are so important to a real weekend breakfast.

When you live in semi-rural North Yarmouth, Maine, you cannot believe your luck when you find that you have the Maine equivalent of a fabulous gourmet restaurant right in your own neighborhood. That's Stone's Cafe.

Don't be put-off by this Cafe's store-front. What awaits your palate within, especially those Saturdays that this Cafe serves dinner, is simply food heaven. The two lady chefs that own Stone's Cafe simply make beautiful, tasty, extraordinary foods. You will never be disappointed eating here: breakfast, lunch most days, occasional dinners on Saturdays, a bakery (even gluten-free items) to die for--it is well worth any trip to get here.

Make Stone's Cafe a must-stop on your trip to Maine. And, if you are just traveling through, I warn you, you'll find yourself ordering something extra to take home! It's really, really that good!

This bakery is a little out of the way. But well worth it. Everything is home made. From there delicious soups to the huge blueberry muffins. They also have whoopie pies. The best we had in Maine. We pre-ordered a couple of dozen to take home with us. It's a whole in wall which we all know are the best places to eat. In short this place is amazing. If you are anywhere close to yarmouth, Maine you have to go.

We usually eat breakfast there 2-3 times a month and always have a good meal. We have never been disappointed - ALWAYS great food. My favorite is French Toast but their muffins and other homemade pastries are hard to pass up. I usually get a pumpkin whoopie pie to take home. If you are lucky enough to catch one of their special dinner nights - WOW! Just make sure you make reservations. I can't wait for their Valentine's dinner.
We also like the wait staff. The place is small enough and so popular with locals that they can call half their customers by name.
Don't expect fancy, this is definitely a "come as you are" kind of place. Just the way I like it.
