“Hidden gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2014

This place is called a pub but the food is far better than that. The atmosphere is warm and friendly like a pub, and the prices are pretty low like a pub, but the menu is far more varied and delicious - tonight they had mussels, bbq chicken thighs, minestrone, cheddar-ale soup with bacon, along with the regular fish and chips and other entrees and salads. I had the cheddar ale soup and a ceasar salad. The greens are always very fresh and the soup was wonderful! Plus they often have some low-key live music or an open mic. A friendly and delicious place to hang out!

“Italian food is back on the menu too!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 12, 2013

The owners of this place used to be in the same spot, but it was an Italian restaurant back then. When they closed we were heartbroken, as other than going to Portland it was the best Italian food in the mid-coast area! Marc Anthony (forgive me if spelling is wrong)....is a chef from the North End in Boston, and his dishes reflect that! Love their light tomato sauce flavor and great pizzas there too. I guess in order to make it financially- they had to include American fare to please those not in love with Italian dishes. I admit, we went last Friday and BOTH had the lasagna- which I thought was delicious. We told Marc we miss the roasted garlic w/ olive oil spread- but he said he may be introducing something similar soon. Even if he offers it as an appetizer, we would gladly pay for it! We so hope others will go and try them again- especially the Italian dishes- it's a LONG drive from Bath to Portland! So glad they are back!! I wish them well!
