“First Visit to Red's”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

A must do when you go to Wiscasett, ME. Be prepared to stand in line for at least 40 minutes to get your food. The lobster roll was a generous portion of solid lobster ( the lobster is served chilled). It is one of those things you need to try at least once. Do not expect any charming atmosphere. You are sitting next to Rt 1 with all the heavy trucks passing by.

“Simply the best!”
Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

Red's has absolutely the finest lobster roll in all of Maine! The lobster is tender, the bread is fresh, and the quantity is more than plentiful!! It is one of those places you should not miss if you are traveling in Maine. Long lines? YES, but there is a very good reason: FLAVOR!!!

“Let the debate be over; Red's is the winner”
Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

Living locally and reading the banter about who's got the positively, absolutely, best-of-all-time lobster roll, my wife and I have to weigh in on the debate between those who give their thumbs up to Red's Eats and those who pledge their allegiance elsewhere. Our vote lands with the former group. You may ask, "but why?" Here are the reasons. Red's Eats stuff an entire lobster, sans shell, into, on top of, and overflowing a traditional New England-style bun which is toasted to perfection. The lobster meat always is cooked perfectly. It is never undercooked, and we've never experienced a lobster roll in which the meat was overcooked and "rubbery." The latter condition is what we've experienced elsewhere in the state which only turns fans away and prevents the uninitiated to become converts. Red's lobsters are cooked Goldilock's "just right." The sides are prepared fresh, with homemade onion rings, shoestring potatoes, and cole slaw. The portions of the former are substantial, whereas the cost of a side of cole slaw is a bit high for the quantity. And, while we're at it, we can't deny that the cost of a lobster roll hasn't dramatically changed over the years, even when the dock prices plummet. But, the quality never suffers, making this the place to go anytime between approximately Memorial Day to Columbus Day for the quintessential Maine delicacy. Highly recommended.

“Noooooo. Please never come here.”
Reviewed September 14, 2013 via mobile

You will stand in line for an hour to order, then wait another 30 minutes for the good. These people are extremely slow. The food is inadequate. Everything is deep fried. Lobster rolls are small for market price. Ours was $20. Never come here.

“Best Lobster Roll Around!”
Reviewed September 11, 2013

This lobster roll is worth the wait in line! It's definitely more than a pound of pure lobster meat on a new england roll, no mayo or anything just lobster. We usually pair it with an order of onion rings. This place is a must stop everytime we come to Maine!
