We drove pass this very small lunch shack and wondered why there was such a long line of people waiting for food, a couple of days later we decided to return and found out why. The Lobster rolls were to die for and the crab burgers fantastic.

Apparently this little eating shack has had numberous newpaper articles written about it praising the food, especially the Lobster rolls.

So if in the area stop by and sample amazing Lobster, its worth the wait.

We were told by that if we were in the area we had to stop by and have a Lobster Roll from Red's Eats. We stood in line in the rain with everyone else and was not disappointed! The sandwich was so big I couldn't finish it. It had HUGH chunks of lobster. Mayo and/or butter came on the side so the taste was all lobster. My husband had a cheeseburger with grill onions. It was really good too! Must stop! Oh, while we were standing in the rain, the employees came out with umbrellas for us to use!

My wife were spending several days driving through the New England states to witness the fall foliage spectacular and on our way to Camden we discovered Red's Eats in Wiscasset Maine. It was later in the afternoon and while the drive through Wiscasset was beautiful enough, at the base of the hill immediately prior to crossing the bridge there was the bright red roadside lobster roll eatery Red's Eats. Beautiful, delicious, and packed lobster rolls, fried onion rings, and homemade blueberry cake. Their sign says it and it's true there is enough meat on the lobster rolls to fill a one and one half pound lobster. Get a side of mayo or melted butter to dip your roll. Butter is recommended. You can't pick it up with your hands until you eat down some of the piled high lobster meat. Price was about $15 for each roll and we both ate all we could eat for about $40. Red's is highlighted in the book 1000 Places to See Before You Die and I'd have to agree. Try it!

Red's is a nice little lunch shack with a simple, highly acclaimed lobster roll. Red's lobster roll is a simple tastey roll overflowing in lobster meat. Nothing added. Butter and mayo are on the side. No lettuce, no tomato, no fillers, no seasoning. You can get all kinds of fried seafood baskets at Red's, but you can't get a whole Maine lobster like you can at a lobster pound. Based on the size of the building, the lobster must be cooked and shelled off site.
If you want a simple lobster roll overflowing with lobster meat, Red's is the place for you.

We heard about this place both on TV and written up by Travel & Leisure, and it lived up to the hype. SOO much lobster meat, cooked perfectly on a tasty bun. It was great that the mayo and butter were on the side, so we could add it to taste. We got there at about noon, and the line was VERY long. Unless you are there at open, be prepared to wait a minimum of 30 minutes and perhaps as much as an hour.
