We booked this lodge for a relatively decent price so we were not expecting something amazing, However, contrary to our thoughts, we were amazed by the little gem we found! The lodge was situated in a small town called Kilcot, near Newent. On the site, there were approximately 8-10 lodges situated amongst trees and a beautiful lake.
To start with, when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Malcolm (one of the owners) who showed us around our lodge for two. It consisted of a living area with kitchen, TV and DVD player and all the necessities needed to cook and eat with. In addition, we had a beautiful four poster bed, modernised bathroom and a hot tub at the back! Having robes to use when going outside to the hot tub was a nice touch. As well as this, the hot tub was remarkably well kept and clean and we were shown on arrival hot to use and upkeep it. Everything was maintained and cleaned to an exceptional standard and even included tea bags, biscuits, chocolate and milk for when we arrived.
The lodge also included lots of leaflets for local activities and days out which proved very useful! If you do visit this area, we thoroughly enjoyed our day out at Puzzlewood in Coleford as well as the village of Symonds Yat.
Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Ford Farm Lodges, and we look forward to returning their soon.
