“Doughnuts and Goodies for Everyone”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012 via mobile

Congdon's does not disappoint. Amazing selection of fresh doughnuts and pastries. We stopped by for a couple of the honey dipped doughnuts and some apple fritters for the road.
Everything was fresh and delicious. Don't forget to pick up a whoopie pie. They make one of the best in Maine. A+ to Congdon's.

“Must see the whoopie-pie!!”

Long line, but time went quickly. My eggs were cooked beautifully. Hubby was very happy with his bacon and eggs. Staff attentive. The choice of doughnuts will overwhelm you.

“A must stop!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2012

Anytime my husband and I are in Maine, we always stop at Congdon's for breakfast and some doughnuts to go. You may have to wait a little while to be seated but it's worth the wait. The doughnuts have that old fashioned Mom & Pop shop flavor - the sugar twists can't be beaten! Also, the homemade corned beef hash is delicious!

“Family Donut History”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2012

My family lived in Massachusetts when I was a child. A weekend would often involve a two and a half hour ride to Wells, Maine planned in such a way as to arrive early enough in the day for a stop at Congdon's Donuts. Yes, they are entirely worth an extra trip. We developed the habit long before their 1979-1980 rebuild, so our involvement is almost exclusively with donuts, rather than the expanded menu items of the restaurant. The donuts are more flavorful than any of the chain store products and manage to stay naturally fresher longer. Go enjoy donuts that stand on their own delicious flavors and do not rely on sprinkles that make your treat look like a clown sneezed on them.
