“Just average”
Reviewed October 22, 2009

Had dinner recently at Joshua's...pork...just so-so, and my friend had chicken and liked it but my taste of it was very lemony. Vegetable mix filled half the plate and fine if you like cauliflower, broccoli and brussell sprouts!!! Also, a dollop of mashed potato was all to be had! The homemade breads were delicious! Wine...overpriced at $7 to $9 per glass per usual in restaurants. Overall, not bad but won't be running back soon!

“One of my top ten favorite restaurants”
Reviewed October 19, 2009

Very plain inside, not too much for atmosphere, but it's all about the food here. Small menu but a good variety. Our server was super friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. We started with the best fresh bread made by Joshua himself, then an excellent salad. Our entrees (filet mignon and chicken) were perfectly cooked. Dessert was a great ending, hard to choose which to try. Our favorite restaurant in the south coast area. Never a disappointment. Highly recommend.

“Worth the drive from Ogunquit”
Reviewed September 20, 2009

This restaurant is definitely worth the drive from Ogunquit, which is not bad off season. Exquisitely prepared, delicious local food with lots of flavor! If you love and appreciate good food, this is definitely worth getting in the car and venturing down (up) from Ogunquit.

“Fantastic Dining Experience In the Land of Seafood "Shacks"”
Reviewed September 18, 2009

If you get tired of some of the many lobster pounds ans seafood shacks in Southern Maine, do try Joshua's. Great ambiance in a renovated house, attentive service, fair pricing, homemade artisan breads, homemade pies and ice cream and excellent food. Veggies are organic and come directly from the family farm.....The menu is not extensive and remains a constant with the addition of 1-2 daily specials. Good wine list, fairly priced. We dined on a Tuesday, off season and it was good we had a reservation. Only disappointment was that they were out of the daily lobster special by our 8pm seating. I would certainly return and highly recommend Joshua's.........enjoy! Check out their website for more info!

“Drinks and Appetizers at Joshua's”
Reviewed September 1, 2009

This was our first time and expectations were high. As usual we sat in the bar and ordered appetizers and cocktails. We ordered Crab Cakes, Sauteed Wild Mushrooms, Salad and Ice Cream. The Crab Cakes and the Ice Cream were outstanding. I don't like Ice Cream but loved Joshua's Home Made Ice Cream. On a sour note, when I asked for a Manhattan they only Martini & Rossi Sweet Vermouth. This place is too nice not to carry better Vermouth. At a minimum they should carry Nouilly Pratt. Because we sat in the bar I can't say too much about the service but the Bartender was excellent. I recommend and will return.
