“The BEST chowder on the seacoast”
Reviewed September 4, 2006

We had a pleasant dining experience at Mike's and were very impressed with the clam chowder! After a week in Maine, I'd say it was the best we had!

Definitely worth the wait on a summer's eve.

“Wow! Great Food!”
Reviewed July 23, 2006

We stopped by here on a rainy Saturday at 4:30pm and there was a 45 min wait for dining room!!! So we opted to eat in the shack around the corner. Food was great & a good quantity for the $$$. Ordered a chicken lobster and one Fried Clams Dinner to share between 2 adults. More than enough. Lobster came with cole slaw (yummy) & roll (didn't have room to eat it). Clams came with onion rings - both were EXCELLENT! So much food we couldn't finish. Parking was difficult, even at 4:30pm, I cannot imagine regular meal times! Will come again if in the area, but not during mealtimes.

“Great Place!”
Reviewed June 23, 2006

My husband says this was the best clams he'd ever had! I had a baked stuffed haddock that was out of this world. We had to wait about 1/2 an hour for a table, but it was worth it. They will not seat you unless your entire party is there, and they are SO busy they could almost use more wait staff or someone to get drink refills and clear dishes. We would definitely visit this place again!

“Clam Chowder, Haven't had any better Ogunquit to Bar Harbor”
Reviewed May 8, 2006

We have been making the trip to Maine 2-3 times a year for the past 5 years. Our final destinations have been Ogunquit, Biddeford, Portland, Booth Bay and Bar Harbor. We plan our trips to arrive at Mikes for our first lunch and our last lunch on departure. Mikes is also our favorite place for at least 2 evening meals.
We haven't tried the Clam Chowder at every eatery in Maine, but the places where we have eaten do not beat the chowder at Mikes. I once questioned our waitress about some of the menu items that seemed unlikely selections for someone travailing to Maine for the seafood. Her reply, “Those items were on the menu at the request of the locals." Now that is the best recommendation, "A Place where the Locals Eat"
