Good food, especially haddock all you can eat, they give you plenty of food and if you leave their hungry, shame on you. Best cole slaw I've tasted while visiting Maine. Good price also. Have to watch the waitor/waitresses a little too much hugging each other while working, not for a restaurant.

We've eaten at Mike's a few times, and for the most part its been quite good. Nothing special, just fairly good. The last time we went the wait was too long, so we used their take-out counter. WOW, big mistake. As soon as we got to the car my wife said the fish and chips had a very strong, unpleasant smell. We went back to our motel to eat our food and she was right, it did smell "old". We ate some of it anyway and wished we hadn't. We also wished our motel room had 2 toilets.
We have not gone back to Mike's since and we will not return, ever!

Mike's Clam Shack was the first restaurant we stopped at on arriving in Maine. The owner was friendly, the service quick, and the food was super yummy. No frills but none needed- the food speaks for itself. The clams were the best I have ever eaten and the onion rings were awesome. Make a point to stop here.

We tried this restaurant a couple years ago but neither of us could remember anything about the food, good or bad, so we gave it another try in 2008.
Can't say it was bad, just typical fried food. I had a lobster chowder that was ok but small and extremely pricey. The scallops were skimpy and there was an extra charge to sub cole slaw for fries. Calamari had very little taste and was rubbery. In general, the food wasn't bad but about on par with any other restaurant of this type in just about any New England town.
We go to Maine for the seafood but Ray's Seafood in Essex Jct., VT has much better. Go figure.
