We had family visiting from Taipai and decided to try Harvest Moon for a pizza.
Once in the door, you had the feeling of comfort. The woman who waited on us had a upbeat attitude and the menu was simple. Pizza and salads. There were six beers on tap plus bottle beer along with wine. The music and atmosphere made us totally relax. The food is bought locally from farmers and is organic. We ordered the " Choke the Goat pizza " goat cheese, mushrooms, artichokes with cheese and a red sauce. We also had the house salad with a homemade dressing. The service and neighborhood vibe made this a special evening to remember. There were families at larger tables. One of the special touches was finding a lovely flower arrangement in the bathroom. Nice touch. This is real food and an owner who cares.
FIVE STAR without a doubt. We will go back. Theres a cute tavern next door to check out the local patrons.

I had read the reviews, and was very excited to try this pizza. We drove the half hour to get there , to have very expensive pizza with hardly any topping, and wasn't cooked. Upon leaving I noticed the next tables pizza looked great with lots of toppings cooked perfect. It was a Sunday, so maybe it was an off night.
The beer was good, and they had an interesting selection of beers. I will not return.

I haven't been down to the new retail location yet, but have had Harvest Moon pizza several times - they even catered our wedding with their AWESOME mobile wood-fired pizza oven, on very short notice too when our original caterer backed out at the last minute! Their dough is great, the pizzas are fantastic with lots of "local color" sorts of selections like lobster, locally wild-harvested mushrooms, and farm fresh veggies of every description. I'm also familiar with many of the beers they have on tap at the new spot, and they're fantastic local brews to a one.

Can't wait to make it down to the new spot, I'm sure it's even better than the mobile offerings!

Great ambiance. Wonderful service. But, best of all the pizza is delicious, mostly organic and Bennett uses mainly local Maine ingredients (and often from his nearby organic farm). This new pizza restaurant in Waldoboro, Maine is well worth the slight detour off route 1. Waldoboro is starting to become a food and art destination. With the Philippe Guillerm Gallery and now Harvest Moon Pizza it is exciting. Don't miss the beautiful views of the ocean from the back bar. My personal favorite pie is the Allium Aquitani (sausage, ricotta, tomato) yumm. The salad, with fresh greens from the farm, and homemade ranch dressing is a great start to the meal. And Bennett has a fabulous choice of local Maine beers, notably the Oxbow Farmhouse IPA (French hubby's favorite) which is on tap.
All in all, we are very excited to have a fresh, local, and mainly organic choice in Mid-Coast Maine.

This pizza spot is a nice break from the typical "doughy" pizza normally found throughout New England. Being used to pizza in the NY/ NJ (don't hold that against me) area I've usually stayed away from pizza joints in Maine...until now. Waldoboro isn't exactly a destination location but it's worth the 5 minute drive off RT 1 if you're in the mood for good pizza.
