Description: Great food, prepared and served well. That's what eating out should be about and it is what you will find at The Inn at Lathones. The Inn at Lathones has always had a superb reputation for its food and over the years has won and retained many awards for its cuisine but you can be assured we understand that eating out is not about awards. Guests can choose to dine in the cosy atmosphere of the bar and lounge area, maybe even sitting in front of the log burning stove or reserve a table in the restaurant. Our food is served in an informal manner - we are an old coaching inn after all - and offers great value for money throughout the day from breakfast, through lunch, afternoon teas, bar suppers and dinner. Executive Chef Chris Wright uses only the freshest local produce in his menus that change with the season.

“Overnight at the over rated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 9, 2013 via mobile

An overnight stay started badly as mobile service for Vodaphone is virtually non existent and I needed to make an emergency call so be warned.
The room was pretty average with dated furniture and a sponge for a bed. The sheet and bedding was clean. The room was absolutely freezing. No heating whatsoever in the room and with the East coast harr it was 11c outside. The radiator in the room wasn't working as the heating had been turned off.
The bathroom was basic with an electric shower with poor flow. Towel radiator didn't work. The fan was so poor they might have just switched that off also. If this was 2* then I would have nothing to complain about bar the cold but the star rating isn't worth the paper it's written on!
The Inn itself was old world and pleasant, the breakfast was good and plenty of choice.
The money this cost leaves us cold as we were left cold.....

“2nd visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2013

After visiting 1 year earlier where we had a fantastic lunch, we decided to come back for dinner.
However the food was lovely it was a little on the small portion size .
My tip would be to go for the bar menu which is much cheaper , more selection and slightly better portions and you can still eat it in the main restaurant

“Three and a half really.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

We went here a couple of years ago and raved about it. Maybe our expectations were too high this time but we left very slightly disappointed. There was nothing wrong with the food or the service , but it failed to wow this time. Great bread. One of our guests raved about his seafood linguini and it did look amazing. You know how seafood pasta is often a case of hunt the seafood? Well this was teeming with sealife! Maybe I just made the wrong choices.

“Excellent Food and outstanding service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

Recently stayed here for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant on 1 evening. The food was exceptionally good and well presented, served by very friendly and helpful staff. They all went out of their way to make our dining experience first rate. Neat and well decorated dining room next to the bar area with a real fire and comforable leather sofas.
