This seems to be a very new Hampton Inn (everything seemed very up to date), which is on US route 1, just over the Rockand town line in Thomaston, ME. Not a scenic location, but one a mile and a half from downtown Rockland, which is a great little town (with lots of great restaurants, and a very interesting art museum) right on the seacoast.

Route 1 is the road most people will take to Rockland, so the Hampton is not out of the way and is easy to find.

The rooms are what's expected in a Hampton Inn (but everything is a bit newer than most Hamptions) ... clean and spacious. It may have been the time of year, but at about $180 per night, this seemed to be on the expensive side (other Hamptons are usually much less than $150 a night).

The breakfast area is clean and large enough to easily find a table, and the buffet items (though not fancy) make for a good start to the day.

All the staff members from the front desk person, to the housekeeping staff, to the woman running the breakfast, were very pleasant and helpful.

Room Tip: Route 1 is the main road in the area, so can be a bit noisy, so you may want to ask for a room facing the back.

Easy access from RT 1, convenient to Rockland and Camden ME, clean rooms, friendly helpful staff, decent complementary breakfast with a good variety of choices both hot and cold, fast check-in and check-out.

Stayed here for a night. Given several changes that Hilton has recently made to rewards programs and other amenities it was hard to justify the price. Hilton showed a one night stay, out of season was 40000 points. For the location and time, this seemed steep. Compared to the Sheraton program, Hilton is out of line. While this hotel was clean, comfortable and inviting, staffed with competent people, it seemed pricier than necessary. Breakfast was pretty much standard Hampton fare - an egg dish, breakfast meat, waffles, cereal and pastries. No newspapers, even for tier members. But as someone else noted, it is pretty much the only game in town.

Hilton has built a strong reputation on delivering certain standards, no matter where you are. This place makes no exception. The people are attentive to your needs and dedicated to making your stay comfortable. The breakfast buffet is a cut above with the omelette. We needed a place to get the road out of our system before taking on Monhegan Island. This place did just that.

Room Tip: Usually you get what you ask for. Be careful to make it known at the time of making the reservation. Once you show up it could be too late.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times. Rooms are always very, very clean. Beds are comfortable. The pool is great for our kids and the staff is friendly and helpful. If you are in the Rockland area, this is the only place to stay. I would have given it five stars, however I find the rooms to be expensive for the area.
