Becky and Don were very welcoming and because the waterfront at the cabin is not suitable for swimming (but a very pretty setting), they make their waterfront next door available for water activities, including access to a canoe, kayak, raft, lawn, etc. The lake is beautiful, the water spring-fed, and quiet. No heavy boat traffic.
The location is only 5 minutes to the Swanville Grocery Store which has just about anything you need, and 15 minutes to the fun town of Belfast.
The property is indeed quaint, rustic, and private, just to our liking. The deck is a great place to hang out. Unfortunately, the cabin was in need of serious professional cleaning, although it had been cleaned before our arrival. And with so much furniture, it was very crowded for the two of us and our daughter and baby.
Overall, this cabin was a great location for exploring the area.
This was a typical maine cabin, water is from the lake but the owner provides bottled water. Cabin upkeep (torn screen door) could have been better but the kids had a good time
We rented a cabin, and were very disappointed in the interior. It was dirty, cramped which made our stay very uncomfortable. So much so we left after three days, we were suppose to stay for 7 days. The pictures on the web were to few, and misleading. The rooms that were not shown, were not shown for a reason, the cabin had no walls just exposed studs and electric wiring. The bathroom looked as though it was under construction. As a family we don't mind rustic, but this was much more than rustic. We were happy to get home.
I do NOT recommend
