“Amazing food, gracious hospitality, & beautiful kept room”
Reviewed January 15, 2013

I just wanted to take the time to thank Jennifer & Mark for the wonderful hospitality they have provided for Chris and I while on our romantic winter getaway. I cannot stop talking about how beautiful our room was and how clean it was. The food was just surperb! This was our first time staying at a B&B. Clark Point Inn was a perfect choice! I will deffinatly be booking another stay here hopefully in the beginning of October. Although there wasn't much to do in the winter on the harbor, that did not matter to us.The Sarah Ashley suite was just enough room for us to stay in and enjoy each others company next to fireplace.
Also...coming in at night to Jennifer's baked goods on the table was a delight!! I couldn't keep my hands out of the cookie jar! :) Thank you again!! We look forward to booking another stay at Clark Point Inn!

My husband and I did a 2 week roadie in September, and ended our trip here to recharge. It was our Babymoon!

Jennifer and Mark were wonderful hosts from the time we booked until the morning we left.

I had originally sent our deposit cheque in CDN funds (not recommended - it won't work that way!!) and Jennifer just held onto it until we got there and then we paid our full amount in cash.

The B&B is immediately welcoming; with a front foyer area that makes you feel like your own house. Coffee and tea set up for 24h access (nothing like a hot herbal tea to wind down for the night!). Additionally, there is a mini fridge available in the dining room to store any of your own personal food items in - including pens, paper, and tape to mark your names on your items!

The room (Jordyn Lea) we stayed in was ultra-clean. The bed very comfortable and the room was spacious enough for our 2 night stay. Would have loved to stay longer! We did not hear the other guests except when interacting at breakfast - no sound issues from room to room, or even the stairwells!

Jennifer and Mark had great tips for dining, things to do, and shopping. (If only the weather had cooperated!).

My favorite weird nitpicky thing? There was a flashlight in the nightstand. I am all about emergency planning and preparedness, so this sent me over the moon with awe!

The breakfasts were incredible - totally gourmet and different from course to course and day to day.

We will be back (someday!!) and will definitely recommend to our friends and family!

This pleasant little B&B was was almost exactly what we were looking for in the Acadia Park area. The house was beautiful, and the room was very nice. The innkeepers were very nice, providing a nice array of coffees and teas at all hours of the day, a book with menus from every restaurant in town, and some helpful suggestions on where to go and what to see. The breakfast was definitely a step above the usual B&B fare. It was three course, using lots of fresh fruit (including a Maine blueberry souffle ), and French toast with homemade coffee-whipped cream. We could have done with a bit of protein, but still very good. One last note: While it seems like a small thing, it was so nice to have good water pressure in the shower. So many of the older B&B's are missing this. If we are ever back in the area, I will certainly consider this place again.

Room Tip: Our second floor room only had a partial view of the water.

The Clark Point Inn is a great place to stay in Southwest Harbor (on the "quiet side" of "MDI" - Mount Desert Island). It's a short walk to the center of town, with nice views of the harbor.

Jennifer and Mark are excellent hosts and have created an extremely comfortable place to base your MDI vacation ... but the best feature is the daily breakfast between 8:00 and 9:00 - a three course meal - we stayed for 6 days and each day was different and unique! The first course is typically pastry, second fruit, and the third course alternates between sweet (belgian waffles, french toast, etc.) and savory (frittata, quiche with crabmeat, etc.) ... amazing!

There are several good restaurants that are a short walk into town, or a short drive in the local area ... and Bar Harbor (with many great restaurants) is an easy 20-30 minute drive.

Acadia National Park is also a short drive (and not to be missed) ... the main section is on the east side of the island, on the way to Bar Harbor, but there are also several beautiful Park areas on the west side, very near Southwest Harbor.

Save some money, and some stress, by staying here instead of Bar Harbor!

My wife and I had our honeymoon in Southwest Harbour where we stayed at Clark Point in. It was the first time either of us had ever stayed at a Bed & Breakfast. The experience there was amazing. We were greeted by smiling faces and were welcomed right on our arrival. Not only was the location fabulous and the people loving and genuine, the food was spectacular. Never have I ever had such great service and taste, with a three course breakfast that had my wife and I full until late afternoon. The room was also a plus, with plenty of space to lay around and relax. The location was perfect as it was not too close to Bar Harbor but close enough to it as well as many of the wonderful hikes and of course the fantastic Jordan Pond. Hopefully my wife and I can make this an annual place to remember and visit!!!

We are said to have been Jet-setters and have seen much of the world. After reading Linda Greenlaw's book on lobstering I had to see Acadia Nat'l Park. We happened to find Clark Point Inn through B&B searches. What a find! The first time we visited was in High Season, August, and we couldn't wait to return on our next trip to the East Coast from our California home. We arrived this time in Off Season and even though we had rain and greyness most days we still loved it. Jennifer's breakfasts were always a highlight and knowing my special likes she made breakfasts for me with touches of my favorites during our Off Season stay. I would rate our stays as PERFECT. Other inn-keepers could take lessons from these people. Clark Point Inn is very special to us. Jennifer and Mark are animal lovers, also a plus.

Room Tip: Don't fear choosing a street facing room. The traffic at night is minimal and the double glazed...

Perfectly located away from the tourist trap of Bar Harbor. The Inn is conviently located across from a Island Explorer bus stop and Southwest Harbor's town dock/ Cranberry Island ferry. Wonderful morning meals with home like accomadations. The room was lovely, and there was ample space in the shared area to socialize with other guests.
