We have been coming to Cranberry Hill Inn for the last two years and it has become one of our favorite parts of our trip to Maine. Jerry and Patti are amazing hosts and always have new ideas of what we should do to explore the island. They are so kind and welcoming and they always make us feel at home. The rooms are lovely - each one is decorated uniquely and reflects quintessential Maine charm. One of our favorite things is waking up each morning to incredible breakfasts that Patti has whipped up - fresh chocolate chip muffins, eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit, and French toast. After a day of hiking or boating, we love coming back to the inn and spending happy hour on the deck. We couldn't ask for a better place to relax and unwind. This truly is a very special place.

Room and private bath were very clean, warmly decorated, and spacious. Patti and Jerry were terrific hosts and gave us helpful tips to maximize our stay on the quiet side of Acadia. Breakfast was delicious--great pumpkin muffins and spinach quiche. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone, but especially to anyone who wants to avoid the busier atmosphere of Bar Harbor.

We spent four nights on Mount Desert Island (MDI) in mid September, three in Bar Harbor and one in Southwest Harbor at the Cranberry Hill Inn. Compared to Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor (on the "quiet side" of MDI) is more relaxed and less touristy--though still with plenty of great things to see and do. Our room in the Cranberry Hill Inn was plenty large enough, was very clean, had a good shower, and provided a nice view of the harbor through the trees. Our shared balcony/walkway looked out on a pretty, well-maintained garden. Our host, Patti, prepared a delicious and healthful breakfast that included quiche, fresh fruit, muffins, orange juice, and coffee.
Patti was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us great tips on how we might spend our time on the quiet side. The evening when we checked in, Patti sent us on a 10-min walk to a cafe in the business district for a piece of the best homemade blueberry pie that I think I've ever had. Early the next the morning, before breakfast, we walked the 3/4 mile or so through a pretty residential neighborhood to a pier that Patti had mentioned where local lobster fishermen were heading to their boats and tending to chores. It was a beautiful scene and very interesting. After breakfast, we left the Inn and spent the rest of the day exploring some of the lovely trails on the quiet side that Patti had recommended (e.g., Wonderland trail, Bass Harbor Light House). From this experience, we've become fans of this section of MDI, and we highly recommend the Cranberry Hill Inn.

We have stayed here 4 times over the last 4 years and this B&B is fantastic. Every time Patti and Jerry have treated us very well and we have loved the breakfast too. The first year we had some trouble on our trip but found Patti very accomidating to our needs. They went beyond what was required to help us out. Every year so far we have stayed a week. This side of the island is much nicer than staying in Bar Harbor which we have done in the past. I recommend Cranberry Hill Inn to anyone I meet who is thinking of going to MDI.

Enjoyed our one-night stay. Our room was clean and spacious with a shared deck, perfect for relaxing. Patti and Jerry are gracious hosts and made us feel welcome from check-in through departure. Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend this inn to anyone visiting Southwest Harbor.
