“Nice relaxed meal”
Reviewed September 1, 2014

We had a nice meal here after not eating here for years. The best part of the meal was the dessert. The homemade ice cream with wonderful caramel topping was truly spectacular. The pot creme was thick and delicious too. The only uncomfortable aspect of the meal was that it was a hot muggy night and where we were sitting did not have air conditioning or ceiling fans.

“A Pleasure worth waiting for...”
Reviewed August 23, 2014

Indeed, after years of summering on MDI, my wife & I finally got to Fiddler's Green and were pleasantly surprised at how good the dishes were. But why shouldn't we have been ? Maybe it's a reflection on how spoiled we've become to the other fine places in SW Harbor.

We started with the "Little Pig" (a minced pork + chile + and chipotle sauces); neat. Then she enjoyed the Poblano Chile Relleno, and I the special of the night: a spiced Bluefish with trimmings. Now it was quite spiced and redone - reminding me of chicken tandoori preparation - but this is what I like. And, of course, a few ales to smooth over the challenge ... awesome !

Their menu is somewhat eclectic - a number of Mexican options contrasting the otherwise local sea fare. So go see for yourself !

One point. We arrived at 5 PM and when leaving had to work our way out due to the large turnout. So advised to reserve early.

This is another gem quietly nesting in the QuietSide.

“The best of Southwest”

A fine dining experience with some great views of the harbor. I have many great memories from dining here...including my 1st & only sighting of a Bald Eagle.

“Delicious food in a great setting”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

My wife and I took another couple for dinner to Fiddler's Green. Among us we had sole roll-ups with crab stuffing, a trout filet, and blackened bluefish. Topping off the dinner was blueberry pie for two of us and a chocolate cake for the other pair. All dishes were superb. A slight downside was that the kitchen staff missed that we didn't order appetizers so we had to wait a bit for our entrees. That just gave us more time to catch up with each other. Be sure to get reservations. We were in the enclosed porch and noted that it was a good bit quieter than the main dining room.
