Excellent beds, food, and advice. Really helpful, inc. getting discounts on dinner at recommended restaurants, use of'phone, drinks available all day, no fuss over times. Cleanliness A1. Minor gripe-slight traffic noise-ask for rooms at rear.

It was such a great pleasure to arrive at an Inn and immediately like what we saw and the people who worked there and owned the Inn; Ester and Sandy. We found the many antique furnishings intriguing and in such good taste. The wooden floors of the Inn were lovely and a joy to have around us. The rooms, again furnished with many antiques, were inviting, comfortable, light, yet not too fussy or overly decorative. The common areas were also comfortable and tastefully furnished. Sandy was the ideal host, being both knowledgeable about the local area and helpful without being intrusive. Both she and Ester prepared great breakfasts as well as home baked treats that were available each afternoon. The inn also has a gracious wrap around porch where we were able to enjoy our afternoon wine and cheese. It's obvious that a lot of love, care and attention goes into the upkeep of the Inn and to ensure that guests are made to feel at home and comfortable. Our long weekend there was truly delightful and we look forward to staying there again!

We recently had the opportunity to stay at one of the nicest bed and breakfasts we have ever stayed in. The Inn at Southwest is located in
Southwest Harbor, Maine. The inn is about 5 minutes from the entrance
to Acadia National Park. Actually, the park has about 4 different parts and all are near Southwest Harbor so we called it the Gateway to Acadia.

The inn itself is a lovely three floor Victorian with tastefully decorated bedrooms and meeting areas. The rooms were very clean and the food was wonderful. Also there are nearby restaurants. Southwest Harbor is much less crowded that Bar Harbor and more peaceful. The inn keepers Sandy and Esther were most helpful and very knowledgeable
of the area. We would highly recommend the Inn at Southwest.

We've stayed at the Inn at Southwest several times now, over the past 2 years. The innkeepers make us feel at home, with excellent and inventive breakfasts (or just the simple oatmeal that my husband prefers), comfortable beds with lots of pillows, and a wonderful living room with a fireplace, tea and coffee service, and afternoon home-made cookies. The kitchen usually has wonderful smells, even though breakfast and cookies are the main events served. I love lazy afternoons on the long porch, reading or working (with excellent internet service) -- feels private but great view of folks walking through the town. Fabulous ice cream/coffee shop a 5 minute walk away, and great lobsters in all directions! Sandy and Esther are marvelous!! Their garden supplies fresh herbs, and lovely floral surroundings. Each of the rooms we've stayed in has a wonderful, different character. It's our favorite!

My family and I have been coming to the Inn at Southwest for seven years. The owners are very kind and friendly and treat you like family. The rooms and common areas for lounging and dining have all been renovated; the food is excellent and service unparalleled. The inn is located in Southwest Harbor which is close enought to everything to be convenient but far enough from the bustle of Bar Harbor to be quiet and relaxing. Enjoy!
