“A MUST see”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

This is the "CLASSIC" lighthouse you dream about. On a bluff with a fantastic view of the surrounding Casco Bay. At the time of our visit (May) there were no crowds so we were able to enjoy the tour, grounds and sights at leisure in quiet. There are some FANTASTIC photos of water breaking over the lightouse during a nor'easter with the spume of the waves reaching almost to the rotunda of the light.

“read lighthouse names carefully”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

The main photos and several descriptions here are for Portland HEAD Light. Bug Light is located on the breakwater across from the Old Port of Portland in a nice little local park. There is a walk along the water and the small light is accessible over a few large, cut stone blocks.

“A View to Die For!”
Reviewed March 21, 2012

Beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. Lots and lots of room on the grounds for walking, playing games, picnicking, etc. Dogs allowed (but clean up afterwards!). Swing set for children and old forts to climb and explore. You can even reserve the pavilion if you want to have a private picnic or cookout for a group. Free parking, and quite a bit of it. No admission charge thanks to the good people of Cape Elizabeth! Port-a-potties on site. Lighthouse gift shop is open seasonally. Bring your own food.
