We had a great meal at Docks. Twin lobsters, potato, corn or slaw for under $20. The lobster was delicious. Cute restaurant with both inside dining and outside. Staff was friendly and very efficient. We wanted to eat at a local restaurant and this one was recommended by the front desk girl at the Econolodge we stayed at. Would definitely go back to this restaurant if we are ever in the area again.

We've visited several times. Great lobster stew, scallops, fried haddock, steamers, and of course: lobster. Happy hour specials are seafood specials! Neat idea.

Full seafood menu for dining in. Nice decor. Plenty of tables. Always clean. Clean bathrooms. Outdoor tables.

Fresh seafood offered in glass display or fridge. Many items prepared for you to cook at home such as mushrooms stuffed with crab. Lobsters live. They'll cook for you on the spot, or cook for your take away. Great way to snag a large quantity of seafood if you're hosting a big bash.

There aren't many places around with kind of fresh offering. You'll be pleased if you really enjoy fresh seafood.

Location is a bit off any main drag, though it's worth the effort to find and enjoy.
BYOB if you like.

Yowza! ! I asked a local where he gets his lobster and he lead us to Docks . Hubby and I had two lobsters each the biggest they had 1 3/4 each . The lobster was sweet and easy to crack . A generous portion of mussels got us started for $4.99!! All in all we paid $62 for 4 terrific lobsters. The atmosphere is that of if u were invited to ur Aunts home, caring and thoughtful. Picnic tables and plastic cutlery are part of the appeal .
Don't waste ur money at the fancy restaurants in downtown Portland . Take a short drive to South Portland for delicious and fairly priced seafood !

We live in Virginia but head up to Maine every summer for a weekend of lobster and blueberries. This year I was scouting for new seafood lunch spot around Portland as our usual place has temporarily suspended their retail storefront due to a dispute with their property landlord. I found a few posts online recommending Dock's for it's quality and value so thought we'd give it a try. As a tourist who doesn't know all the local secret cheap spots it isn't easy to hunt down the better value spots - the touristy well advertised spots where they price to soak it to out of state visitors abound and grab all the headlines. That's why we were so pleased to walk into Dock's and find the pricing absolutely a steal- $25 for 2 generously sized steamed lobsters, 2 ears of corn, a large side of sweet potato fries, and a big helping of coleslaw. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and we left feeling very very satisfied with full bellies of flavorful lobster. Can't wait to go back next year when visiting Portland. This is going to be our FIRST stop after landing at the PWM airport.

We found Dock's in a travel mag, and decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. It's a family-owned restaurant, very clean and nicely decorated. Well-maintained. The dark website doesn't really reflect the bright and colorful place that it is. Very nice inside -- casual and clean, but we chose to sit outside. Even tho it sits on an intersection, Dock's creates an atmosphere that is quintessentially Maine. The food was very good, one of the better lobster rolls I had during our visit (a nearby and VERY popular lobster shack paled in comparison this year). My husband ordered the scallops, and accidentally ordered them fried, which he never eats. Since it was his mistake, he opted to keep the platter. The batter was light, and the scallops were a nice portion of VERY tender fish -- EXCELLENT. We also enjoyed Moxie seltzer and cola for the first time ... We will definitely return to Dock's!
