This lighthouse stands at the end of a long stone jetty or breakwater that juts out into Casco Bay. It is accessible from land. Very few parking spaces are available nearby. Particularly at low tide, it's possible to admire the lighthouse while sunning on a small beach. Both the base and beacon enclosure are black; the short, tapering cylindrical tower is white. Many younger and more nimble visitors make the trek out to the structure, but the seascape view is virtually the same from shore. If one is looking out toward Great Diamond Island and Peaks Island, this view is picturesque in any season and at most times of day.
