“Fantastic Hidden Little Gem!”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

What a BEAUTIFUL resort! Whether it's just for the two of you

I had access to kitchenette, fireplace, jacuzzi tub - all in my room! The quarter deck is a GREAT place to bring your little ones - with classic candelpin lanes, pool tables. The pool sits right along the harbor which has breathtaking views as the sun rises and sets and the spa is very fresh and new with a variety of services and boasts a HUGE window that overlooks the harbor too. The pub is very quaint and a great place for beer and the breakfast buffet inside the Patio House had so many options to choose from.

Every member of the hotel staff we came in contact with had that genuine Maine hospitality - not that sappy stuff you get in city hotels. They were not only helpful when it came to exploring the areas within the property, but genuinely wanted to see how they could make our stay that much better within Sebasco Harbor and the surrounding areas.

If you're looking for a comfortable retreat this summer, be sure to check this place out!

Room Tip: Wonderful area for families inside the Inn - or if you're traveling in a group, try to secure on...

I had the priviliedge of visting the resort in early June for a board meeting and was wow'ed from the moment i arrived until the sad, sad moment that I had to leave. They really have something for everyone, games and activities for the kids, golf for the sporty types, a spa for those looking to relax, and the array of food options is really outstanding. The staff are what make this resort so top notch, they were so accommodating and so friendly it was such a great atmosphere. The views are phenomenal from the Harbor Suites and from Ledges Bar. I describe it as a "dirty dancing" look with a resort feel. It's truly a great location and I will visit again for pleasure soon!

Room Tip: Our group stayed in the Harbor Suites East and West, they are lovely and modernized but dont take aw...

We stayed in the Lighthouse in room 2. It was nice we didn’t have to walk many stairs with our suitcases, but I think I would have asked for a room on the next floor for a better view. The room as clean, but dated, esp. the bathroom. The bathroom has old wallpaper that is pealing off and the heat register is in need of paint, but it was clean. The room, at times, had a musty smell, also. There is no air conditioning so be prepared. There is a fan in the closet. You are given clean towels and your beds are made each day, but we never did get clean cups. The restaurant is next door, so we just walked there to get some. That is also where we went to get ice. Can’t talk about the restaurants as we only ate breakfast there on our last day. It was good, but just a regular brunch, nothing special. However, my husband raved about the blueberry pancakes.

There is an Olympic size salt water pool. It was dirty looking esp. in the deep end.

The view from our room was unbelievable. Wonderful to wake up each day and look at the water. Our window was so clean we took several pictures from our room and they looked like we were outside.

We didn’t’ use the resorts activities as we were out and about each day. We were there the week before the busy season, so some of the activities were not open yet. We were told if we wanted to bowl, they would open it for us, but we were never back in time to do that. There is a nice gift shop on grounds.

You are out in the middle of nowhere so be prepared to drive for restaurants shopping etc.

Overall a nice place to relax.

Dear Reviewer:

Thank you very much for your detailed comments – your input is extremely available to us and other travelers coming to our area. The Lighthouse is certainly one of our most popular lodging options – I am sorry that Room 2 didn’t meet your expectations – which meant it didn’t meet ours. Thank you for noting the cleanliness of the room. Both the wallpaper and registers have been remedied and I apologize that they were not in the expected condition during your stay. The views from the Lighthouse certainly are breathtaking!

Our salt water pool is cleaned daily and I apologize that it looked dirty – some of the rain that we experienced in June made it a bit more challenging!

Thank you for noting that the staff was available to open the Quarterdeck – I wish you had the opportunity to enjoy that facility – it brings you back in time.

Again, thank you for your comments and visitor suggestions and we hope to have you back.

All the best,
Michael Lynch

I attended a group meeting last weekend at Sebasco Harbor Resort and when I say this place has it all, I mean it! Spacious accommodations, beautiful spa, delicious food, plentiful activities, stunning views of the harbor and most of all friendly accommodating staff! After a two days I didn’t want to leave. There is so much to do and the property is just gorgeous. I can’t wait to return with the entire family very soon!

We stayed May 24-26, 2012. What a great two days and nights.
When we checked in we found out that they upgraded us to the Harbor Side suites.
We had two separate rooms. One with a small kitchenette and a nice table and couch and a balcony overlooking the harbor. The views were amazing. The second room consisted of a King bed, fireplace and desk. The bathroom ( which we had 2 of ) adjacent the bedroom had a whirlpool tub and separate shower. In all the room was perfect. We walked the grounds of the golf course. The course is 9 holes with the second hole being a par three where you have to clear a portion of the bay to get to the green. We played played the course the next day (18 holes). We enjoyed it very much. This is not an executive style target golf course. It is narrow but you can use your driver on all but one par 4. Very well maintained and picturesque.

My wife and I normally go to the Balsams in May for our anniversary as we both enjoy the settings food and golf.

The food at Sebasco is just as good as the Balsams and any other restaurant that we have eaten at. We ate all of our meals looking out at the ocean. They go out daily and get there own lobsters. The fried fisherman's platter was so lightly fried that you barely knew it was even fried.

Thank you so much for your lovely review - I am glad we had the opportunity to meet and visit with each other prior to your departure. The golf course is in incredible shape and certainly a hidden gem.

Your comments on our cuisine were much appreciated as well - we are fortunate this year to have eight culinary externs from Culinary Institute of America and New England Culinary Institute working side by side our executive culinary team preparing the best of Pure Maine fare.

We hope to see you again soon,

The people who run this resort are fabulous! And the view from the rooms by the sea are fantastic - you can hear nothing but the sound of the ocean at night. And the food served to our large group was absolutely wonderful. And if you happen to be arriving by sailboat this is also a great place to spend the night at anchor.

Room Tip: Rooms in the Spa building are great.

Thank you very much for the lovely review - we absolutely love hosting your group and we couldn't think of a better way to ring in our 83rd season!

The Fairwinds Spa and its guestrooms certainly provide our guests with an incredible view of Casco Bay - thank you for noting that as a tip to other reviewers.

We hope to see you again next season with your group - thank you once again for allowing us to host you!

Sebasco Harbor Resort is a great place to have a wedding or an elopement. We got married on October 5, 2011 and the facilities and staff could not have been better. The weather was quite cold but the staff made us feel warm and welcome. Michael Lynch, the resort manager, who also doubles as a wedding officiant took great care to make sure that the day was perfect. He even arranged for the rain to clear for a few hours so we could get married outside under the beautiful gazebo. We stayed in one of the lighthouse rooms which had an amazing view of the harbor. During our stay we had two amazing dinners at the Pilot House restaurant. The Lobster was to-die-for. I only wish that we had booked a longer stay. We are planning on returning for our 1 year anniversary.

Room Tip: For an absolutely amazing view ask for the king room in the lighthouse.
