“A must see when visiting Acadia National Park”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

My husband & I have been going to Acadia National Park for 30 years & we never knew there was an aucto museum in the area. We are always looking for rainy day activities because it always rains while we are there & after awhile you run out of options. We read an article in the paper about Seal Cove Museum so the first rainy day we went there. Such a lovely museum, so many beautiful cars. The woman that was working there that day was very helpful. Since it was raining we probably spent 3 hours there. They really need to do something to get the word out though that there is a museum in the area. Even when you pick up the local guide & it lists the "rainy day activities" this museum is not listed.

“Some very unique cars”
Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful display of some very rare cars and motorcycles. There is an undesired Model T that is amazing. Not a big museum but very unique. Definitely worth a visit.

“worth a visit”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

We headed there on a drizzly day and had a great time. My son is car mad and it was so great to see all these old cars in such amazing condition. We loved hearing the history, it must have been an amazing time in Acadia with the rich people driving around in these wonderful cars. The staff were wonderful and explained what they were doing, particularly where they were working on an old car. There's an old till by the door and one volunteer who was in the middle of his lunch was only too happy to put his sandwich down and come and show us how it worked.

“Auto Museum”
Reviewed May 27, 2013

A gem. If you are a car buff, especially, the early years, this very well organized auto museum is a must stop. It covers the Brass Era (1895 to 1917) with excellent examples in a small but will order collection. A short drive from Bar Harbor, perhaps 30 minutes. We noticed a brochure at the Inn where we were staying and the Innkeeper suggest it would be a worth while side trip and it definitely was. Ended up spending almost two hours taking pictures and enjoying the history of early automobiles. Great stop for teenagers that have a interest in cars (which is probably all of them).

“One of the bes auto museumst in the USA.”

A fantastic collection of early automobiles. Hard to believe that this can be found hidden away on the coast of Maine. The collection has changed over the years, but has always maintained extremely high quality cars. Worth the trip!!
