We stay here last night on our way to Camden, Maine. It is clean, affordable and the staff couldn't be nicer or more welcoming. We were greeted at the door as we came in and again in the morning as we came out for complimentary coffee. Breakfast is a bit more than continental...eggs and sausage. Not gourmet but enough to get you on your way in the AM. And...they came around to offer coffee refills.

This is not a Marriott Renaissance....and neither is the price. We have often stayed here on our way to a farther destination in Maine.

If you like a bit of style in your stay, this hotel is a charmer. I teach interior design and found the rooms to be quite stylish in navy and kelly green design. Although the rooms are on the smallish side, they are well designed and even include a frig and microwave.

The staff is exceptional. Lorena and Heather at the front desk were happy to answer all questions. The manager was out and about greeting guests. The hotel is clean and fresh. Regarding food, the complimentary breakfast included waffles, eggs, sausage, muffins, bagels, yogurt, cereal, fruit etc. There is always iced and hot coffee out for guests. Attractive outdoor pool area - wish we had time to use it.

It's easy to drive to downtown Portland from this hotel and when I showed my 20-something son some hotels there, his comment was he liked where we were staying. This hotel has a great spirit about it. It's very close to the Maine Mall and various restaurants. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in the area. Great value for the price.

First thing: get a coupon book. Stop at the visitors centre outside of Portland and get yourself a Maine coupon book. That immediately drops the price of a standard room from about $150 to $99. At this price this beautiful hotel is an absolute steal.

Regardless, even at full price this hotel is wonderful. The rooms are immaculate and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast is full featured (eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, and more) and is ready to eat very early for eager travelers.

Overall, I would say this is the best hotel in the South Portland area. There are others that are nice...but not quite this nice.

Room Tip: Th standard King room was lovely. I can only imagine that all others would be just as good if not be...

Stayed here for two nights in August 2013. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the pool was warm and not crowded, the breakfast was fine. I assumed that all Fairfield inns were standardized, but this one seems to have smaller rooms than the norm. There is no closet for coats or even to hang the ironing board and iron. As a result, they put the iron in the drawer. After ironing my clothes, I left the iron out to cool. Housekeeping put it back in the drawer, but all of the water leaked out of it onto my clothes that were in the same drawer. It's an odd setup. I must say though, that like all Fairfield inns which have the dreaded "in window" air conditioning systems, this one was very quiet compared to others I've experienced.

This was our 2nd year in a row that we used this hotel as the jumping off point for a week's vacation along the Maine coast. I made a request for a 2nd floor room hoping to avoid the noise we experienced last year when we were assigned a 1st floor room near the elevator and kitchen. We arrived early so no rooms were available on the 2nd floor, so we gladly accepted a room on the 3rd. The room was small and cheaply furnished, but clean. I am an early riser so I appreciated the availability of a computer in the lobby. Breakfast is included, but limited. I tried the scrambled eggs to be tasteless and the sausage patties greasy. Coffee and juice were fine as was the yogurt. This is a convenient location for anyone wishing to visit downtown Portland as it is only minutes away. In addition, it is located near Cape Elizabeth for a visit to the beautiful Portland Head Light.

Rooms were small and walls were thin. Kids enjoyed the outdoor pool. The staff were friendly and the manager of the breakfast buffet was very helpful and nice. Good location for restaurants and activities.

Stayed a few nights, would return. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable, and area was quiet. It was about a 10 min ride to the Old Port section, right off of 295. Complimentary breakfast was eggs, meat, breads, waffles, fruits and yogurts. Very nice.
