“It is a Fairfield Inn”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

This Fairfield Inn was standard, so not too much to say. The breakfast was adequate (the eggs were a little watery). The room was clean and looked like it had recent updates. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and what I expect from a Fairfield Inn.

Great room for a great price - clean, good size bathroom, quiet and looks newly refurbished. Sandwiches and soup Available from 1630. Very nice reception staff. Excellent, other hotels could learn from this.

The room was small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast left a lot to be desired, however. There are signs/posters in various locations of the hotel advertising the hot breakfast with eggs and sausage. Well, this was not the case when we stayed there. The hot trays with eggs and sausage were completely empty. The waffle mix was also empty. The staff seemed dumbfounded and stated that they had run out. This happened only about 1/2 hour into the breakfast time. Really? If you are looking for breakfast to be included with your room, there are many other places to stay in the area.

Firstly, I found a tissue under the sheets when I was going to bed. Not impressed! Enjoyed the front desk ladies. Mark was tired, grumpy or just not interested. My rate was reduced once I spoke to another front desk agent. She was very distraught with the tissue and having come in after 12 midnight and not having a friendly welcome!

It's been several years since we've stayed here. It's a little tricky to get to and it's right next to the freeway, but it's very nice other than the location. We asked for a quiet room and were given a room on the 3rd floor on the front of the building. It was very quiet. The rooms had recently been redecorated and everything was new and lovely. Our room was quite small but the space was well organized. There wasn't even a closet - just a rack attached to the wall. The bathroom was the smallest I can ever remember having at a Fairfield Inn. The basin was tucked into the corner by the doorway. It was a 1 person facility for sure, but it was clean and the shower was great, and there was another mirror in the entry, which I used to get myself "together", so it all worked out. When we registered there were hot chocolate chip cookies and pizza available. We had the cookies, but passed on the pizza because we were going out to dinner. When we left the following morning there was a sign on the counter inviting everyone to a manager's reception later that afternoon where some kind of pasta was going to be served. The breakfast area had been remodeled and enlarged since we were there last. It was a large pleasant space. The breakfast was good, and we could see from where we were sitting that they had a full kitchen adjoining the eating area. This place caters to business people and appeared to be full or nearly so when we were there in mid-April. We paid $74.00 plus tax for a king senior, but it was "off season" and we may have used a coupon - I can't remember for sure. It's a good choice for an "overnighter".

Room Tip: To get away from the road noise ask for the front of the building

We stayed overnight in Scarborough, ME on our way up the coast. The hotel was comfortable and clean with a very good price on the room. The breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly and helpful on directions. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good economically priced room with breakfast included.

We arrived after a long day's drive and had a bit of a challenge finding the location with our GPS, but eventually found it. Probably would have been easier, had it been during the daylight, as we were very close to the mall. It's a very clean, conveniently located to Cracker Barrel, Famous Dave's and Cabelas. A nice hot breakfast is available.
