“Worth a Try If The Other Places Are Crowded”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

The Clambake is a long standing tradition in Scarborough. They offer counter service and the best seafood chowder in the area. The fried seafood is OK and actually they have a good hamburger. For the best clam chowder and fried seafood try Ken's, just up the road. Remember, lobster is lobster no matter where you get it, never a real difference.

“LOTS of food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

This local place was recommended to us by the hotel we were staying at. At first we weren't sure we were at the right place because it looked like a big barn. Walking in we could see it was "cafeteria style" and we hesitated for a moment but are so glad we went ahead and ordered with the help of the friendly staff. You get a number and go to the window for your tray and food. No wait staff here. I had the lobster and shrimp bake with the seafood stuffing topper. My husband had the same with the addition of the scallops. Both dinners came with a large baked potato, cole slaw and roll. We also had a cup of their chowder. No way could we eat all that food! Next time we would do our ordering a la carte and get smaller portions.

“great Seafood Feast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

We ate twice at the Clambake. Food is great and service is fast. Huge restaurant , very efficient. Lobster was amazing, Mate's seafood platter was generous for 2 people to share, lots of clams, shrimp, scallops and a large filet of haddock. Cooked to perfection
Chowder was also great.

“Good seafood dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

Decent prices and good new England seafood offered at the Clambake every time we go. Not a full-service restaurant as you have to order at a counter, then pick-up your food when number called so if you are looking for a complete sit-down dinner this is not the place for you. Portions are good sized and value is pretty good.

“Great place to eat seafood!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

The building doesn't look like much very long and a couple of large dining areas you do go into the door and order like it's a cafeteria style and you wait for your number to be called. So with all that said you basically pick out whatever table you would like to eat at and then go pick up your food. The reason I like this place is because you can get a lobster dinner and get down and dirty with your food and they have plenty of condiments for whatever food you order. They have a bar and the bartender we had was great she will make whatever drink you ask for if she has the liquor available. If you want to sit at a table where the waitstaff comes to you this is definitely not the place to go.
