We used Marriottt card annual certificate to stay in this hotel. It turn out to be a good value to use it at this site. Friendly staff, free brkfst, free dinner mon~thur, pool and Jakuzzi. A gentleman at the frontdest was super nice and helpful to show us the interesting places to go in Portland area.
Overall, very nice stay, nothing to complain. Will come back.

I reserved 3 rooms for 1 night for our stopover up to the coast of Northern Maine. When we arrived there was a line for check-in and apparently there weren't enough rooms ready. This was at 5pm. The front desk clerk looked extremely flustered and it took at least 10 minutes before someone else came to the front desk to help out. I'm assuming since I'm a Silver member my rooms were blocked off and ready for us to check in. As we were heading up to our room I noticed the housekeeping cart was kept outside the storage area (which is righ before the elevator), the cart was there for most of the night and the morning when we checked out, making it difficult for the luggage cart to squeeze by.
We were up on the 3rd floor and 2 of the rooms were next to each other on the lobby side away from the street, the 3rd room was facing the highway. The highway noise was quite noticeable so if you are a light sleeper request the lobby side. The room facing the highway also must have had dogs in it previously and was not "refreshed" as it stank of dog and my allergies were on high alert.
The couch had stains on it and when we went to make the pullout bed there weren't any sheets available.
The other 2 suites were in great condition and no issues what so ever.
I now know for future to request a pet free room!
There is a grocery store right across the street and plenty of restaurants near by. Its a great place to stop if your on 95, easy in and out.

Room Tip: Lobby Side if you don't want to hear the traffic from 95!

We stayed one night in June 2013 while driving up to northern Maine. The hotel is better than the average Residence Inn (which we like) and exceeded our expectations. We arrived after a couple of long days in the car with two young kids and the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and clean, and the kitchen is well equipped. The indoor pool was nice for the kids to get out some energy on a rainy evening and having windows on three sides made is brighter than most hotel swimming pools. The little workout room actually has a good gym quality treadmill, but we were too tired to use it. Breakfast the next morning was better than the average hotel fare. Blueberry waffles were an option, and there were lot of toppings. The other hot options were also nice and the breakfast crew was friendly.

My husband and I had a four night stay here in mid May. It was a wonderful experience. The manager was very welcoming when we checked in and told us that we needn't spend all our time in our room, that it might be nice to bring a book or a glass of wine and just relax in front of the fireplace in the evening. Had a great little kitchen (we only used for snacks, but was available.) It was possible to order groceries and have them delivered. There was a menu in the kitchen about the meal available in the evening.
Our room was very comfortable and we loved the bed and slept well every night. The bath was
also very convenient and the water pressure was good. There was a TV in both living area and bedroom. The staff here were especially helpful and friendly. They seemed to really care that your stay was enjoyable. It was also very convenient to highways, restaurants, shopping, etc. We will definitely
stay here again when we are in Maine.

That’s what the little note on the fridge says and that’s how it feels... just like home. It’s referred to as a studio, but has everything you’d need for it to be a bachelor apartment and live there! This is my second stay at this particular Residence Inn Marriott and it’s so good to be back. It’s the ideal place for a little cross-border shopping trip to the fabulous Maine Mall and surrounding stores.

I like the studio style room that has an open concept with a kitchenette, generous living room area with a desk and pull out sofa bed, a queen size bed, and a split bathroom with a good sized vanity with drawers and a closet. The bed was quite firm and I like it cushy, but that’s just me. The flat screen TV swivels between the living area and bedroom. It is all you’d ever need to spend a few days shopping or use it as a base for other day trips like Newington New Hampshire... that has no tax!

There are also a few good restaurants in the area that we don’t have in Canada so that's a treat. Cracker Barrel, Longhorn’s, and Olive Garden are my favourites. There is also a Shaw’s grocery store across the street if you want to eat in and the kitchenette has everything you need to do that. A hot/cold breakfast is included, decent, and served in the multi-function room across from the check in desk. From Monday to Thursday they have a light meal with drinks and dessert which is nice to “come home to” after a day’s shopping. My favourite was the night they had chicken and rice last year. There is a little calendar on the fridge to tell you what they are serving and when. There is also a flat screen TV and seating in that room. It really is a great multi-purpose room and socializing is encouraged. Don’t forget to come down to get your chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven at night.

This place is very welcoming, clean, well kept, and a hard act to follow. If you need any little thing, just call the front desk and count to 10... amazing service! The staff is exceptional and I’d like to say a special thanks to Dennis, Bryan, and Cindy for another wonderful stay.

Good to note that it’s hard to zero in on it online, because it’s listed under Scarborough, but it’s right in the swing of things. It’s set back off the main street and easy to miss so be clear on the directions. Right across the entrance to Shaw’s is a good marker. I’ve got my marker memorized and can’t wait to go back next year.

Room Tip: I prefer facing the front as the back faces the highway and it can be noisy at night if you want to...
