After many times of driving by, and by the reviews of others, my husband and I decided to try it on our last "date night". I'm really not sure what I think. Although the food was good, I felt it was way too salty. The free chips and salsa was a nice touch, but I thought the chips had a too done taste to them.. The salsa was tasty. I heard that the Margarita's were good,, so we tried the "original" house margarita,, I thought it tasted a little like a "mixer" was used but my husband liked it.. I was surprised to get my margarita in a mason jar though. We had the "Couple special" (app, 2 entree's, and a dessert),, I liked being able to chose ANY ENTREE on the menu for the special.. Plenty to eat,,, I don't think either of us could finish our plate we were so full! However, later on, after getting home, I tasted my meal all night! My husband however, was just plain full.. He really enjoyed it. So I think I need to go back and try it again, I may have had just an off night with my taste buds and belly..It is definitely worth a second shot.
The staff were amazing, friendly, warm and helpful. The atmosphere however was surprisingly disappointing... This is the first Mexican rest. in our area, and with little effort and money, one could really make this a fabulous atmosphere. I felt that they were trying not to go "over the top" with neutral Mexican flare,. But that was not what I was expecting and I bet others in our area is ready for full blown flare, bright colors and Mexican deco.
I think part of the reason why my husband had never gone in, was because nothing made it stand out as far as "curb appeal". Again, this really could be done up with color and flare to make it holler...... "Look at us, come on in".. In closing I would suggest a reservation on the weekend nights.. There really is no place to wait.
