A casual and unique dining experience eating inside dot's dining room or kitchen. The food is all cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients (and from dot's very own garden in the backyard!) and is delicious. I would highly recommend everyone try dot's for breakfast or lunch. Call ahead if you want to take home sweet or savory pies (we took home 5!)

Having visited several times, I can recommend Dot and Mr. Dot (a/k/a her husband) to the highest degree. You are welcomed to their restaurant and feel as if you are stepping into your best grandmother's kitchen, except Dot is part entertainment and part great cook. You are served local fresh ingredients, the recent veg omelet used fresh seasonal ingredients, which we were consulted about, eggs were free-range and deep yellow, and the breads are all fresh on premises. Jams brought are all house made, and also available for take out and are outstanding. But best of all are the pies: you order ahead, they are made to order, made from scratch, tried Maine blueberry and blubarb!. Fresh delicate sugar doughnuts come with the "holes included" that is, you get the doughnut holes cooked separately along with the $.50 doughnut. Be prepared for Dot's down east wit and humor- (the cast iron frying pans decorating the walls are for: scones, pancakes, and for when her husband doesn't listen) a gem, one of a kind and a place to make you happy-

If you are looking for a unique dining experience in Maine then Dot's is the place. First, this is a bakery and informal breakfast/lunch place and when I say place I mean Dot's house. Offerings are pretty straightforward but an egg sandwich on a homemade english muffin? Yum. In fact, if it's baked... it's homemade and delicious. Try the Anadama bread and order a blueberry pie in the morning to pick it up that afternoon. You won't regret it.

It was a sad day in our house when Dot moved to CT so we were overjoyed when she returned to Maine a couple of summers ago. Dot's baked goods are outstanding! Whether it's a pie, freshly baked bread, cookies or donuts, Dot's work is superb! She uses the highest quality ingredients and you can taste the freshness. The pies are simply the best my family has had. Raspberry is our favorite but we also like the Peach and Blueberry. The kids like the chocolate chip cookies.
Above all, it's Dot's friendliness and taking the time to chat and catch up on family news that makes each visit so special.

They make a nice breakfast at Dot's. I found the setting a little odd, though, as family members entered the dining room wearing pajamas, and as a relative of the owner made an insensitive comment to my child. Not sure I'll go back, especially as the Bristol Diner is right down the street.
