The hotel seems rather new and shows it because it's absolutely spotless. But the newness doesn't take away from the charm. The balcony looks out over a green green hill sloping directly down to Penobscot Bay. We spent hours on that balcony. It has to be the most beautiful view from any hotel in the area. The grounds are lovely. You can walk down the hill where there are scattered comfortable chairs with umbrellas, a small beach with real sand (!), there are flowers, sailboats in the distance, so many ospreys flying overhead. It's an Eden. There's an infinity pool overlooking the bay. The room itself has (gasp!!) lights! I mean lights with more than 40 watt bulbs and lots of them. That's SO rare in hotels. You can also actually access electric outlets for charging your cell or whatever. All the rooms have comfortable king beds and even A/C tho you don't really need it even in the summer because you can close the screen door to the sliding glass door to the deck and get plenty of fresh cool air at night. Patti, who 'womaned' the front desk while we were there is delightful - friendly, helpful, always smiling. Get room 114 if you can. (a) It has the best view in the hotel (unless you get the one above it, which I would imagine has a great view, too) because there's absolutely nothing to block a 180 degree look at the greenery and the bay, (b) the entry is right next to the office and on the main floor so you park your car and bring your stuff directly through the front door and straight into your room without having any stairs, (c) even tho the entry is on the first floor, the balcony is on the second because the property slopes towards the bay, (d) the room has a separate foyer so it's absolutely quiet from any front door or road traffic, (e) go right outside your room in the morning into the office and there's the coffee/tea pots and you're close to the ice and vending machines just outside the front door. The hotel is only a short drive (5-10 minutes) from Rockland and Camden, but you feel like you're out in the country. There are only 15 rooms so it's like a modern inn. This hotel was a rare find. I so highly recommend it. You won't regret it.

Room Tip: Get room 114. See my review for reasons.

Our suite had a bad odor like sewer gas smell. The owner/manager did nothing to correct the problem, became beligerant, and we moved into a diferent, smaller room for the night. He tried to charge the same price as the much larger suite saying the rooms were all the same price. He lied about that as well as several other things, and tried to discredit us. We cut our stay short and left the next day due to the unpleasant experience.

Room Tip: Avoid the Puffin suite due to bad odor. Owner/manager needs anger management training.

The location is right on Penobscot Bay with views of the islands and boats in the bay. The property is pristine with very clean rooms, lobby, pool area and outdoor seating areas. The decor is up dated. The bedding is amazing - we had a great night's sleep.
The only con is there are no walking distance restaurants or shops. Everything required a drive. They offer coffee in the morning but a simple continental breakfast would have made it much more convenient. We ended up at Dunkin Donuts which is something we can have at home.
Overall we were VERY satisfied and will definitely recommend and visit again in the future.

Room Tip: All rooms have an ocean view, there's no reason to pick a higher priced room.

This facility is great....from the time of the initial phone contact to checkout. The facility is much nicer than the web site portrays and is extremely well maintained. They have chairs down by the bay and a beautiful pool

This inn was part of our trip along the maine coast. Very close to Camden, but a much quieter location. The rooms were outstanding. We couldn't ask for more. Very large and clean and so modern and updated. Designer finishes throughout. We had a fireplace in our room. It would be perfect for a cool fall evening.
The room looked out to the water, with a sitting porch right outside our door. There's a very long lawn down to the water, with some chairs down there to sit on. The inn sits high up, so the view is really nice from uptop.
They don't serve breakfast, but do offer coffee in the lobby. Actually , the coffee was quite good.
You can go over to the lobby, a very short walk, and take it back to your room or sit there with it.
They offer a 10% discount for breakfast at the diner very nearby.

The pool looked inviting, but it was a little cool out when we went.
We really loved this place.

Room Tip: our room 117 was very large , the view was slightly obstructed by pine trees on one side. You could still see the water quite well, but i wished they would trim those trees for a wider view. Albiet, this place rocks!
