At first glance, it is hard to believe that this roadside motel offers so much. We recently stayed at the Ledges for three nights on the second floor in a deluxe king room. When we opened the door, we were blown away by the breathtaking view. The room was immaculate and spacious. There was a fireplace in the corner and a comfy chair to read in, along with a table and chairs by the window. We appreciated having a Keurig coffeemaker, refrigerator, microwave, and DVD player with movies. We have never been in a room that supplied wine glasses and a corkscrew. The binoculars in the room were an added treat. The grounds were very well kept with chairs provided in different spots to sit and take in the view. Just sitting on our bacony was such a pleasure. Such a peaceful environment, you'd never know that it is next to the highway. We never got to enjoy the pool, but did enjoy the continental breakfast, especially the scones. We will definitely go back.

We stayed at the Ledges for 2 nights last month. In the past we have stayed at the Samoset but it has usually been off season and the Ledges was much more reasonable. We were more than pleased. At first sight I thought it was a typical looking "motel" with parking in front of each door.....but walk through the door and what a view - just beautiful!! It was a treat to be able to park right outside the door. Once inside everything was set up for comfort. The additional sink outside the bath was very welcome for getting ready in the morning. There was an Apple computer on the desk available for free use. The bed was comfy as were the chairs by the balcony doors. We had a fireplace which would have been such a treat on a cold fall day. Happily in July we didn't need to put it to use. Breakfast was excellent, especially sitting in the lovely room with windows on 3 sides, as well as an outside area for the right weather. Homemade muffins, raisin cinnamon bread, and delicious coffee made the continental breakfast seem all the more special. We will return!

My wife an I both thought that Ledges was a wonderful stopping point on our journey through Maine. The location is perfect with Camden to the North and Rockland to the south. The continental breakfast had all of my wife's favorites, and being able to sit out on the porch overlooking the bay was a wonderful bonus. Add to this the friendly, helpful staff, Ledges was the perfect place to stay.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Ledges and it ticked all of our boxes and more: great bay/ocean view from our room (and shorefront you can walk to), a semi-private deck to enjoy the morning sun and vista, air conditioning (although we simply left the screened door to the deck open and that was plenty comfortable), coffee maker (Keurig), strong Wi-fi (important for my wi-fi-calling cellphone), heated pool, King bed, refrigerator/freezer, continental-style breakfast included ... and such a great region of the Maine coast. Easy to find, too, right on Rt 1 -- yet we were not aware of any traffic sounds.

You can tell that the Ledges really sweats the details. The property is kept up nicely, everything is clean and well maintained, both inside and outside. The staff is friendly and helpful, yet completely respecting of your privacy.

It's a real gem of a location, too, in between Rockland and Camden. Only a few minutes to Rockland center and harbor and lots of restaurants, shops, and activities. About 10 minutes or so to Camden, and all that it has to offer.

We would happily stay there again, and would recommend it to friends.

My wife and I enjoyed our recent stay--our 1st time. the room was excellent, nice TV, decorated nicely and CLEAN!!!! The breakfast was excellent but sitting and looking out at the bay was nice... very peaceful---the flowers were nice too... YES we have it on our A list to visit next year.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 1st floor... nice view of the bay ---but all the rooms look out on the bay.

We stayed at the Ledges for just one night but we were very satisfied. I liked the fact that there was a sink in the bathroom as well as one outside the bathroom. We had three people in the room and the two sinks made it convenient. We usually stay at the Country Inn in Rockport but this is going to be our new spot because it is closer to Rockland and Owls Head where we go to the annual Antique Truck Show at the Owls Head Museum.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor and it still was not very noisy.

We spent one night at the Ledges and it was absolutely perfect. The staff was very friendly, the room was spotless, and the view from our room was beautiful. We loved how quiet it was. Absolutely no noise at night while sleeping. The breakfast was a nice bonus also. Next time, we hope to stay longer!
