Samoset Resort On The Ocean
Ranked #1 of 10 Hotels in Rockport
Certificate of Excellence

We returned to Samoset Resort at the end of August, 2012, after several years absence. The recent multi-million dollar refurbishment and restaurant upgrades were well-worth it, quite exceptional actually. Rooms were very good, balcony with a view of the great lawn and ocean, and the new dining options are wonderful, with outdoor patio dining, standard inside dining room with floor to ceiling windows for great views, and the Enoteca Lounge, which is a big hit, with excellent Italian antipasti dishes and individual pizzas, etc. And of course, the Maine Lobster Rolls were about the best anywhere!

Excellent service in all respects, even the General Manager was doing some service behind the front desk at one point and introduced himself, a nice touch to see hands-on interaction with guests by the top executive of the property.

Beautiful pool and pool bar, gorgeous grounds and a great setting for enjoying walks to the jetty and tiny lighthouse at the end of it. Can't comment on the golf course, etc., since we are not golfers, but it was worth staying here even without any interest in golf.

Overall, a great place for a true getaway break. A little on the pricey side for Maine, and it would have been nice if they just incorporated all the costs into a fixed price, rather than charge a mandatory $25.00 per room resort fee in addition to room rates, but it was all well worth it. Bottom line: we didn't want to leave!

Beautiful resort, grounds and views. Upon arrival the beautifully decorated christmas trees and lobby immediately gave us a warm welcoming appeal. Great service from the staff giving a personal touch. We stayed in one of the newly renovated wings which was beautifully done and the views out towards the breakwater and lighthouse truly merited a glass of moscato....my wife said she couldn't have asked for a more beautiful birthday stay!

Room Tip: breakwater views are the best especially in am with coffee on the balcony

We stayed here May 2012 as part of our RCI timeshare. We enjoyed our stay and it was a great place to enjoy Maine. Convienent to Camdenharbour and rockport. We drove up to Acadia National park for the day and rode our bikes around mirror lake. We also climbed Maiden's cliff trail at Camden Hills state park. Home Kitchen cafe was our favorite breakfst spot. get food always a line, but worth the wait. We went to the local seafood market and bought lobster two times. It was nice having the kichen and lobster pots etc... The room was cozy and right on the golf course. we had a perfect view of the Rockland Breakwater. It was a nice brisk walk out to the breakwater. The pool area was nice and clean. since we were there early May it was relly quiet. The restaurant and bar downstairs was a nice touch not to have to leave the property if you did not want to cook. We would return again.

We had really high hopes based on the website. Our king size room with a view did have an excellent view and was spacious. The bathroom was not very clean: toilet and tub specifically. The bed had lint and hair on it. We had a hard time finding parking anywhere near where our room was and had to park quite a ways away. I was told I could not request late check out even though our conference ran through noon with checkout at 11, but another attendee was told it would not be an issue. The seats throughout the conference rooms were very dirty and other attendees were avoiding sitting in certain seats. The continental breakfast did not offer many options. Waitstaff continually reached across us as we ate to snatch up other plates. The views are amazing from the hotel and the lobby area was beautiful with fresh smelling flowers.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the room with a view.

We stayed here for few days and beyond the location, the service was indeed outstanding and the food was great. Staff went out of the way to accomodate us even when the restauarants were closed. Rooms are super large

This was my second vacation here and I absolutely love it! It's so relaxing, yet there is so much to do. The scenery is amazing, the ocean views are fantastic and no matter what the weather is like it's such a great place. I totally suggest taking a walk on the breakwater, maybe look for some sea glass on the beach, and definitely do Sunday brunch at La Bella Vita. Tomorrow we're going downtown and I can't wait! :)

We are "Mainers" who own a timeshare and frequent this fabulous place on the ocean every year we can. Great ocean views from the rooms in our timeshare, looking out over the golf course to th ocean. Went to the La Bella Vita for brunch on Veterans Day, great time.
