Our one-night stay at the Old Granite Inn was pleasant but not exceptional. It was a bit off-putting to have the front door locked until checkin time, but that is understandable. Upon arrival, we received an understated welcome - we were directed up to our room, but none of the inn amenities were described or touted. We enjoyed meeting Thud and Molly, the cats. The room was pleasantly appointed and the bed was VERY comfortable. The floors (terrazzo and tile) were icy cold, but at some point in the afternoon the heat came on and moderated the chill. Breakfast in the morning was simple and filling, and other guests greeted us with pleasantries.
All in all, it was a nice enough visit. If you're looking for a place to stay right downtown, try it.
