We all enjoyed our food at Cafe Miranda. I ordered a small plate that was actually huge- the roasted vegetables with ricotta and chicken. It was really tasty. We had made a reservation so we didn't have to wait long to be seated, but we waited pretty long for everything else after that. It was hard to get our server's attention and she would frequently pass by our table without checking in, despite our attempts to catch her glance. I asked twice for salt and pepper and they never came. It's a very eclectic place with an even more eclectic menu. Despite it's bohemian image, the food still doesn't come cheap, and so it's too bad that despite how much money we spent we had trouble getting decent service.

We spent the day in Rockland and wanted to grab a late lunch. Unfortunately, we were too late for lunch at Miranda's (they close at two) so we opted for an ice cream at Lulu's with the goal of going to Miranda's for dinner. And are we glad that we did. The food is delicious, unique and favorable. I shared a lobster pizza and beet salad with my sister. Another sister had the lamb burger, and our friend chose the haddock dish. We were thrilled with all of our choices. The portions were amble and easily shared. We would go back again!

Just off Main Street on Oak. We had the Cassoulet and Pasta. In the cassoulet there was a higher ratio of meats to beans; different than what we had in the South of France, but very good. Pasta very nice. A busy place; call for a reservation.

Had the best lunch today with the poorest service... mainly due to understaffing and lack of organization. Pity, because the food was absolutely fantastic.
Carol's mussels with marinara sauce, fresh oregano and focaccia.Delicious, $12
My Deconstructed Nachos...a fire baked mixture of 4 cheeses, black beans, red onion, poblanos and jalapeño with a side of lime dashed tortilla chips and fresh salsa and cilantro. Price: $9 The best nachos I've ever had and I'm a Texan! The tastiest, most flavorful meal I've had in some time. Chef Andrew Hansen can blend the flavors!
The restaurant's motto: We do not serve the food of cowards. My advice: If you have the time, risk it. Go to Cafe Miranda! The food deserves a 5-star rating!

Our B&B suggested Cafe Miranda. We sat at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Every diner at the bar was a regular who insisted it was their favorite restaurant in Rockland. Count us among the believers. Food was incredible. Provincial preparation with local ingredients masterfully assembled. Plus, unlike many restaurants in Maine, they had vegetables. This is a very fine restaurant. Don't miss it.
