We were in Rockland on a Sunday looking for a place to have lunch and decided to give Lobsterman's a try (we were enticed in by the outdoor tent sign proclaiming the freshest lobster in town). The restaurant interior can be best described as minimalist - simple wooden tables and chairs, wooden flooring and a few pieces of art on the walls - certainly not the fanciest spot in town. However, the food lived up to the billing and that is what matters most. The lobster chowder was superb with an abundant number of large chunks of lobster meat (including three small claws) in a rich, silky smooth broth. The lobster roll was also piled high with large pieces of meat with just a little mayo stirred in and served on a nicely toasted roll. It was the best lobster roll I had on our trip. I also loved the draft beer options - eight local craft brewery selections including a delicious blueberry ale. Lobsterman's is a great spot for lunch.
