“A lovely (but too short!) visit!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2006

Recently returned from our lovely overnight at the Limerock. We were up in Rockland to dine at Primo (a real gem of a restaurant - amazing). I can echo the other sentiments found here - lovely inn, great breakfast, and kind, involved, professional and interested hosts. Frank and PJ are great and really made us feel very much at home. Very clean and well-kept B&B. Nice attention to detail. Plenty of character and lovely decorations in the house - but it's not overdone (like many New England B&Bs). Simply put: a lovely stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Hope we get back there soon!

  • Liked — Hosts, location - it was just a comfortable place!
  • Disliked — I liked everything.
  • Tips/Secrets — Don't miss Primo (restaurant a mile up the road) but make sure to make reservations!

We decided to induldge ourselves at the Maine Lobster festival for a 4 day getaway. After researching a number of B&B's in the Rockland area, we stumbled onto the Limerock website. We booked two rooms, one for ourselves and one for my brother and sister-in-law. What a great time! The Inn is perfectly appointed, with comfortable rooms and two of the most personable innkeepers. With their gratious style, it is easy to feel that you have found a home away from home. By the time we parted, we felt that we were leaving two new family members.
Nothing beats conversations on the porch with a couple glasses of wine.
Don't let me forget to mention the gourmet breakfast that is served every morning. We will definately be back.
Thanks to Frank and PJ.

Frank & PJ set the platinum standard for B&B innkeepers. From the moment we arrived until we departed four days later we were part of the "family". The property is a beautifully maintained and tastefully decorated "historic" home on a quiet street within easy walking distance to downtown. We booked the Lighthouses, Lobsters and Luxury package and it delivered!!! Breakfasts are a highlight not to be missed! Frank and PJ went out of their way to insure that our visit was a wonderful experience.

  • Liked — Frank & PJ!!
  • Disliked — Nothing.
  • Tips/Secrets — We worth the visit and don't forget to take advantage of the myriad package deals offered.

I stayed at the LimeRock Inn with my fiance for a coastal Maine getaway. The location is great... on a quiet street with an easy walk into town. Rockland itself has a great wine bar, great local brewery, a fabulous bakery and traditional coastal Maine fare. We enjoyed the food (and value) in Rockland more than the offerings in Boston! The town of Camden (which is much more touristy) is just 20 minutes up the road for great hiking with ocean views. We also rented a canoe and paddled around a large Camden lake (which was warm for swimming!) To top it all off, the Inn was nice and unpretentious... a place we could call home during our stay. Coffee, tea and other snacks are available all day long, as well as internet access for a quick weather check. Frank and PJ were fabulous hosts, and the breakfasts were great (and the perfect portion) for getting a nice start on the day!! I would definitly stay here again.

  • Liked — You could use or ditch the car, access to the outdoors, access to great food/wine/pub beer.
  • Tips/Secrets — Great destination or stop on the way further north (ie Acadia)!

The Limerock Inn is the perfect Maine getaway. Located on a quiet street within walking distance to downtown Rockland...the location is ideal! The inn itself is charming and sophisticated, at the same time comfortable and unpretentious. The hosts PJ and Frank are very friendly without being intrusive. We felt it was the perfect place for our wedding weekend, and look forward to making it a tradition.

Our first night in Maine we chose to stay at this wonderful inn in Rockland. PJ and Frank are the consummate hosts and they steward a beautiful property just a few short blocks to the Main street in town. Our room was very comfortably appointed with a queen bed and private bath and wonderful views of the garden. The bed was firm and comfortable.

Our hosts made a restaurant reservation for us and we were glad they did as diners were turned away who were not so fortunate. Breakfast the next morning was delicious!

Treat yourself to a stay at the Limerock!
