“Best smoked haddock corn chowder ever”
Reviewed August 29, 2014

What a delightful surprise to find a family owned restaurant with excellent, fresh, and well-prepared local dishes. My husband and I both had the smoked haddock corn chowder - prepared fresh - no sitting around mushy stuff. It was full of smoked fish, creamy potatoes, sweet corn, and bits of bacon to add to the smoky flavor with just enough cream to make it a chowder. Yum. I would have been satisfied with just that and a salad. My husband had the Best of the Best chicken wings which was such a large portion he had to take some home - not something he ever does. And I had the seared scallop salad which was perfect with new potatoes and kale sauteed and dressed with a light dressing. The Maine scallops were fresh (no frozen seafood here) and done perfectly; not rubbery, just melt in your mouth sweet. The chef really knows how to cook seafood. Definitely will return to try their fresh Maine crabmeat bun. The owner made us feel like she was glad to see us. To be welcomed appreciatively, to be served graciously, and to be presented with great food as well, is something we rarely find. And, did I mention this restaurant is in a vintage train station? Cool.

“Great food!”
Reviewed August 27, 2014

The Trackside has very good food, both classic items like burgers, and unexpected surprises like the gumbo that I had, which was the best I've ever had anywhere. Fresh salads, good service, too. If you're not from the area, you may miss it because it's not on Main St, but it's well worth the visit. Cool old train station.

“Great food & Service”
Reviewed August 14, 2014 via mobile

We had a great meal at the Trackside Station in Rockland. Our juicy burgers were served on tasty fresh-made buns. The fresh cut fries were perfectly prepared. Other members of our group had pizza, a BLT, and fried sea scallops. The only complaint of the group was that the portion size of the scallops was a little skimpy. Two thumbs up for food & service.

“Awesome place for everyone!”
Reviewed August 7, 2014

We have been going to the Trackside for about a year now and we love it. Out of all the restaurants in town, we keep coming back here. Kelly, the owner is an exceptional host and makes sure everything is running smoothly. Also, the place is immaculate, super clean.

We have come here for dinner, lunch, sports games, and just to meet with friends. We recommend this place to everyone because it is so accessible, affordable, and delicious. There is something to eat for everyone.

The chef does a great job in creating new specials that are creative and very appetizing. Trackside also participate in all the local events and many charities, helping so many people. This is the place to be at in town. Did i mention they have a 150 inch screen that shows all the major sports games??? Now, that is super fun!

It's been a while since i wrote a review, but it was time. Trackside is where we go whenever we go out. AND, they now have outside seating, but the inside is beautiful too. We will definitely go back again, and again, and more... We truly feel welcome and and home here.
