“Nice Walk”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

Have your walking shoes on for this bumpy 2 mile walk out and back. Once you get to the lighthouse there are benches to sit on but no restroom or drinking water. The skyline is beautiful to look at but watch your step!

“Scenic Walkway”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

We walked out to the lighthouse on a beautiful October morning. The break wall is uneven but easy to navigate if you watch your step. Great views of harbor and a part of Samoset golf course.

“A Long Walk but well worth the trip!”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

What a beautiful place to see the bay and a lighthouse to boot. The walk is a little long, 7/8th of a mile and you have to watch your step, the granite is uneven but once out t0 the lighthouse the views are breathtaking. Be sure to check the hours as you do not want to make the trip out during high tide and the lighthouse is only open during certain hours so check with the museum in town for more information.
Well worth your time!

“Excellent views”
Reviewed October 14, 2013 via mobile

After a long walk (1 mile), the views of Rockland and Penobscot bay are outstanding. I have seen the this lighthouse before, but it was raining. My wife and I were looking for a great picture spot, when we cm across this spot. We decided to make the trek over the granite blocks and the results couldn't have bee more perfect. The lighthouse is at the end of a street with parking on the left near the Samoset resort. The area of Rockland is In a very nice neighborhood . Perfect Sunday afternoon walk. A side note: it is open on weekends

“long walk out to the lighthouse”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

What an adventure to walk out on large granite boulders 7 tenths of a mile to the lighthouse, so 1.5 mile walk up and back. You can explore the lighthouse and get the history of it and great views.
