Dress in layers and take your camera and bug spray. A great hike and wonderful pics on a clear day. May pass if very overcast.

We visited and decided to walk the breaker to the light. What a long walk but worth the views! Please be advised that there ARE NO BATHROOMS when you get to the end- the best time to walk out there is when the sign reads Lighthouse open- otherwise you walk and do not get to climb up onto the top to see panoramic views that are breathtaking. I loved the climb on the spiral metal staircase to get to the top it was fun. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The gift shop is tiny but sells cool stuff! Also the little beach on your walk to get to the breaker had a ton of sea glass!

Get your sneakers on a get ready for very unique trip to a lighthouse. Our family ranged from 7 to 70 and we loved it! You basically walk a straight path across huge flat rocks with cracks- almost a mile out and a mile back! I would only do this on a nice day! It will probably go down as the kids most favorite part of the trip! (I hope the insurance people never catch wind of this place!:)

Long walk out and back over uneven blocks of rock with gaps out to lighthouse. Great views to be had. No fee. No access to inside of lighthouse during weekdays.

The walk out on the breakwater requires stepping on and over the granite slabs laid out to the lighthouse, you really should be careful as if you slipped and found your leg pinned you coud easily break it badly
But that being said you will enjoy this unique experience as there are lobster bots actually hauling traps.20-30 away from you [if you re lucky]
It is a unique experience do it
