We discovered the Farnworth Museum 2 summers ago and throughly enjoyed our opportunity to see the many items from the extensive collection of the Wyeth family's work. Other regional artists work is also well displayed and this summer I was very pleased with the traveling Benson show. But the big thrill was to see that they have finally devoted an entire room to Louise Nevelson, who graduated from Rockland High School. Her artwork is displayed in many of the USA's big museums such as the Chicago Art Institute and the Smithsonian's modern collection. She tried many kinds of art over her long career and the Farnsworth room shows some of her very earliest work for stage, early paintings and then some of her more well known wooden sculptural pieces.
