Reviewed November 6, 2012

This is a spectacular lake! We stayed at a Camp on the Lake and woke up every morning to a beautiful view of the water...and every night sat under the stars and the FULL Moon...just spectacular!!!

“naturally wild”
Reviewed September 9, 2012

We rented a private rustic home by this majestic grand lake. During our full one week vacation, we went fishing and canoeing. We had the opportunity to show our daughters, ages 5 and 7mos, a myriad of learning experiences. It simply is the perfect place to regenerate and be away from our hometown in NYC. Some days we had some rain during the day and one night of downpours but sunny or not, I loved how it's naturally wild.

“One of the bigger lakes with undeveloped shorefrontage”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

Take a trip around this lake to see undeveloped land as it was hundreds of years ago. No road access to big sections of land mean access only by water or hiking. Houses vary from modern to 100 plus year old historic.

“A piece of Heaven”
Reviewed April 8, 2012

This lake is the 7th largest in maine but has so much history with it you cannot absorb all there is to know!
It boast wonderful campground Stephen Phillips which will also take you out to your own private islands for the night but please remember what you take out must come back in and that means everything!!
Truly a magical place as wel!! You can see where they carved slips out of the granite ledges for their steamer botas to fit and tie up for the night and it does boast one of the best lakes for native brookies and is part of a large chain of lakes and rivers that all feed into it!
Absolutely beautiful!!

“Breathtaking in a Plane!”
Reviewed January 19, 2012

We were fortunate enough to have a perfect day to take a seaplane with our family of the whole 1 hour loop with Keith our pilot owner of Acadian Seaplanes in Rangeley Maine. He was extremely helpful to point out the best views and thoroughly narrated the experience/flight for our family. I can't wait to boat on the Lake next year.
