“calming solitude?”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

We recently stayed two nights at the inn. Quiet neighborhood, beutiful well appointed gardens. nice comfortable room, a bit pricey. Tasty breakfast presented with edible flowers but limited to starches. The biggest disappointment was the dirty and neglected beach!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Breakfasts were truly a gourmet experience and the location is perfect. We would recommend this hideaway to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and peaceful experience.

If you want peace and quiet from the crowds of Barr harbor and want to fall asleep to the sound of the sea come here. The views from the oceanfront rooms are worth the money even thought bit small.
Staff was lovely and well equipped to help you find great hikes. The hiking was incredible with few people and quiet. We look to hike in places where there aren't a ton of people an tourists. This was it. The locals weren't very nice but we can understand why ,,,.... This is a well kept secret

We would have liked to see better quality for shampoo ans soaps and with the tea service
Tea cakes or cookies but other than that it was lovely Foodies will die for the breakfasts.

Room Tip: Ocean front is the best.

We spent 3 nights at the oceanside meadow inn. Different from touristy bar harbor, the inn is located on a quiet neighborhood. We bring our parents and one-year old daughter for this trip. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. The inn is in the prefect spot for cycling and walking around and there is a beach right in front of it. My kid had great time play on the beach. Host Ben is very helpful. As a marine biologist, he provide us a lot of eco-tour information around the area. The breakfasts are very creatively prepared and tasty. As a guy, I usually don't care too much about breakfast. But with different edible flowers in each dishes everyday are the very special experiences.

Our family stayed at old Sea Captain's house for three days. The oceanside meadow Inn feels like home. Our room is very clean. The host, Ben is very nice and all the staffs are very helpful. I loved their delicious home made breakfast, the pretty garden, private beach and the fireplace. I wish I could stay there longer.
The only down side I can think of is the bathroom is little small for us and there is no bathtub( we lived in room 6 in the Captain's house). We have a two year old and it is very hard to bath her.

We spent 4 days at the inn after our wedding. Our room - # 5 in the farmhouse - had 4 windows facing the water. Comfortable bed, plenty of space, clean and quiet. We especially liked having so many different common spaces available to sprawl out and read, chat with new friends, and the use of the kitchen. I spent every a.m. on the porch with a book and coffee and listened to the water. Lovely. Food was OK - creatively presented but bland. Beautiful gardens, gracious hosts. Overall, a 5.

We spent June 20-25, 2012 at Oceanside Meadows B&B. It was a marvelous experience from the booking, the stay, right up until departure: then it got sad because we had to leave! The property is immaculate and beautiful. The views are wonderful in that you either look out upon the extensive meadows or on the ocean. The 3 course breakfast is delightfully presented and tasty on the pallet; not heavy and quite healty. What's neat are the edible flowers with each course served! The staff is warm, friendly and helpful (Beth, Margaret and everyone else). We stayed in room 4 of the 1820 Farmouse. Every detail was attended to and we are SURE to return as well as direct all of our friends here. I have stayed at many B&B's and this is far and away the best of everything.
