We opted for this hotel because the area doesn't have tons of nice hotels and we didn't want to overpay for a mediocre hotel in Old Port. This hotel is only about 5 miles from the cool parts of town and even though it's on airport property, it's not loud. I even like the view of the private jets just outside the window.

Spacious hotel and each suite has a good sized bedroom and sitting room. Location was right beside jetport, but noise from the planes was not a problem. However you did need transport to get into Portland. Very good breakfast with freshly cooked omelets always available. There is also a Manager’s reception every evening with a good range of drinks and nibbles on offer.

A slight word of caution though. We were in room 206, which unfortunately was right above the air conditioning unit for the main foyer. This was extremely noisy and as a result we were unable to sleep for the first night. Hotel staff were sympathetic but the hotel was full so they were unable to move us that night, but we were moved to room 204 for our second night. We were also offered a voucher for dinner for two in the hotel's very good restaurant as compensation. However this was attached to a standard letter, which could be seen as an indication that this type of problem may have arisen before. Best to avoid this room if you want a good night's sleep.

Other than that we had an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Try to avoid room 206 as air conditioning unit below the bedroom window is very noisy.

Dear Del318,

Thank you so much for your honest feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I would like to apologize for the problem you experienced on your first night. I'm glad to report that we have since been able to correct the problem with that air conditioner unit by replacing the belts so it longer makes a noise in the room above.

I'm pleased to hear that we were able to move you to another room and that you ultimately enjoyed your stay with us. I hope we will see you again on your next visit to Portland!

Best Regards,

This hotel is close to the airport (but you can't hear the planes), is very clean, has comfortable beds and accommodations, good parking, a good restaurant, and an excellent manager's reception. The staff was friendly and they provided shuttle service to my office as well as other business locations.

Nice building, GREAT location, even if you don't need the airport (we didn't, we had an early morning meeting in Portland and I booked off the back of the Trip Advisor interviews), it's fun watching the planes. You can't hear them one bit though.

Clean rooms, nice layout, ok food.

Nice, clean gym, sauna and pool.

Would not stay anywhere else in Portland.

We enjoyed our stay here tremendously. The room was extremely quiet, despite being close to the airport runways. We could open the windows, which was really nice for a smoking room. The bed was comfortable, the staff was terrific, the breakfast was really good, and the gym was just fine. We didn't check out the pool. I would stay here again. The staff gave us great directions to everything we were headed to see. The price of the room was high, but it was a quality hotel.
