We spent one night here. Everything is immaculate and well planned. The room was great and the breakfast excellent. Its a short drive to the waterfront. Would definitely stay here again.

This was one of the best B&B's I have ever stayed in! The room was beautifully decorated with many details that made the stay exceptionally pleasant: wine glasses, wine opener, small refrigerator.

David, the innkeeper, was a wonderful host. No doubt I would choose this B&B for my next stay.

The hotel is in a wonderful location - 15 to 20 min walk from the Olde Port part of Portland. If you have a car - it's only a 5 minute drive. Parking in Portland is relatively easy so not a problem if you don't feel like walking.

The B&B is beautifully decorated and maintained. Each room is different and you can tell that a lot of thought went into decorating each room. But it's the small touches that will make your stay so memorable. The innkeeper, David, is super nice and helpful. He provides printed directions to many area attractions and gives good tips for places to visit and things to do.

Other daily touches include: a daily delicious buffet breakfast, ice tea and treats (homemade cookies or brownies) each afternoon, bags of chips and Cheez-Its, bowl of chocolates in your room, and complimentary bottles of spring water in the mini-fridge of your room.

All in all, you won't get a better experience than this.

The only caveat I note is that since the inn is a restored old Victorian home so there are no elevators. So if you anticipate issues with bringing luggage up one or two flights of stairs, then this isn't a good choice for you.

The Morrill Mansion is located about a 15-20 minute walk from where all the restaurants and shops are. The Mansion itself is very nice and breakfasts are wonderful (fresh fruit is used in a lot of the dishes, home baked scones and muffins). We stayed in the Back Cove room which was a little small for 3 nights but it did have a great jacuzzi which was over utilized. The town of Portland is kind of odd: lots of street people; lots of litter; good, independent coffee shops; dead at night; frat boy bars blaring awful, loud music; the best thai food we've ever had at some random place we stumbled on....It was a weird town for being so small. I'm glad we stayed outside the more popular area because all the drunk people on a Saturday night would have been annoying.

My wife and I stayed in Portland for a friend's wedding and originally searched for hotels in the area (Hilton, Holiday Inn). As they were all booked, we chose to look into bed and breakfast's using Trip Advisor as our guide. We came across this bed and breakfast and found that Morrill was rated number one. We called to reserve a room for three nights and were immediately impressed by their courteous service and demeanor.

The stay was nothing short of wonderful...the room was thoughtfully designed, the keeper, Dave, was kind and hospitable (without being intrusive), the breakfasts were exceptionally tasty (wonderful strawberry cobbler) and the location was as good as it gets in Portland (10-15 min walk to Olde Port).

This bed and breakfast is on par with luxury hotels that we have stayed in across the country. We highly recommend you visit this bed and breakfast on your visit to Portland...and we would love to go back!

My husband and I stayed at this B&B and had a wonderful night! The inn is immaculate and it is very clear that attention to detail is very important to the inn keeper. David is meticulous. Very approachable, but not intrusive by any means. It is clear that he is organizied and operates a highly efficient run B&B. The information in the lobby allows you to be fairly self-sufficient, although since he was available I still felt comfortable bending his ear a bit more to get add'l information on some restaurants I was reading about.

Breakfast in the morning. was delightful. Everything fresh, fresh, fresh! Would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend the establishment.

We stayed at the Morrill Mansion for one night, which happened to be my Birthday. Unbeknownst to me, my girlfriend contacted the owner and he arranged a very special treat for us that was waiting in the room. It is this personalized service that exemplifies why the Morrill Mansion gets rated so highly on TripAdvisor. Our room was well decorated, had a comfortable bed, and nice bathroom. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
