“Good rustic Italian fare in Portland Maine”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

The local 'Maine oysters were very good. The service was efficient and friendly. The quality of the produce is excellent but the execution needs a bit of work in seasoning, I don't mean adding more salt, just adding herbs and spices to food rather than just salt. Despite that, our three cheese penne and a Maine Angus burger were devoured in record time. It was a warm friendly environment with good home cooking.

“A pleasant surprise”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

Our B&B host recommended this restaurant as it was close--but Caiola's was a very pleasant surprise and way exceeded our expectations. The cosmo martini was one of the best--and the fried polenta sticks appetizer and seafood medley and mutton meatloaf dinners were excellent and all reasonably priced. We just regret we didn't go back for the second evening of our stay in Portland and instead ventured to a highly rated restaurant that was twice as expensive and not nearly as good in atmosphere, price or quality. This restaurant is truly a sleeper and a gem--would highly recommend!

“Fantastic food and drinks”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

Went for dinner and drinks with a friend last night for a birthday celebration. We took our seats at the bar. For a Tuesday night, it was busy. My friend ordered the cilantro martini and I had the chocolate martini(not quite sure of the name) but it was really good, so good, I had two. We had the salad, bruschetta, crab cakes and the steak caprese salad with cornfritter fries.. Everything tasted yummy. Nice place on the West End.

“Great West End Bistro”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

What took me so long to discover this wonderful Portland bistro? Caiola's has it all, from varied and superbly presented appetizers to entrees that run the gamut from Mutton Meatloaf, pan-seared Coho Salmon, Paella as well as pasta dishes and steak. Our party enjoyed every bite. The wine list was diverse and well priced. This place is a great find that I have been by many times without stopping. I plan on finding it frequently from now on. You should too.

“PORTLAND'S LOCAL GEM !”
Reviewed September 18, 2013

What a wonderful and delicious experience. We were taken there by a friend who lives nearby and we loved the local flair. The food was fabulous with attentive service. Sure wish we lived closer as this would be our go to restaurant.
