“Fun, hearty, offbeat”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Ventured in on a Saturday night and there was a 20 minute wait so we asked for to go orders...saw that outside table/bench area was available and asked if we could sit there and they said sure! So, we had two large freis with a few different ketchups..truffle was my favorite. Two sandwiches and two shakes... Banana nutmeg was very good. Pork Belly sandwich was tasty and so was the cuban. Service was pleasant. The only complaint we had was that this was not a cheap eats kind of place as it's been presented in local reviews. Two sandwiches, two freis and two shakes were pricey but it was fun, offbeat and quality. Relaxed and casual but not inexpensive. We did like it and will go back.

“The fries are worth the drive from Boston!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

The place is tiny and fun. We got fries with garlic aoli and truffle ketchup to go and they were worth the 2 hour drive from Boston. Next time I am waiting the hour to sit and try one of the sandwiches as well. FANTASTIC!

“Best fries ever! Great stop for lunch!”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

We get to go to Portland a lot and we love eating here. The fries are nothing less than spectacular and the dipping sauces are outstanding. Seriously, get the fries. The sandwiches are also good. Duckfat is a short walk away from the water and there is usually parking nearby. This is an great place for a casual lunch and it is not super expensive like many other places nearby. It is usually pretty busy so be prepared!

“Totally cool place”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

Very cool place, with very hip vibe. The food is wonderful. The duck confit is super. They are locally known for their poutine. If you want to feel like you did something healthy, they also have salads. Great place to stop for a gourmet snack and a glass of wine.

The food was over the top delicious, eclectic and down to earth all at the same time. I can't wait for my next trip to the area just so I can eat there.
