Description: As you enter Rí Rá you can imagine yourself walking through a door that leads you back in time to the peaceful and cozy atmosphere of a traditional pub 100 hundred years ago in Ireland. When you visit Rí Rá you will feel as if you are going back in time, such is the ambiance of the pub. All of the pub interiors were salvaged and restored in Ireland and shipped to Portland. The pub is on two levels, with three distinct areas.

“Great staff and fun atmosphere”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

RiRa on the Port in Portland is a must for anyone spending some time in the area.

There are three bars; a pub, an irish bar and an upstairs bar on the premise. The menu is full of amazing options from traditional irish dishes like corned beef and cabbage, shepards pie and bangers and mash to more traditional like burgers and fries. The daily specials are also worth taking a look at.

They have many traditional irish ales available as well as domestic beers and ales for those of us who want something familiar. I enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee that was served elegantly in a coffee press. The coffee was amazing.

“Irish Pub Atmosphere on the Waterfront”
Reviewed March 14, 2013

Located on the waterfront in the Old Port, this small, darkly atmospheric local pub is just a stone's throw from the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal. Both metered on-street and paid garage parking are nearby. The bartenders are among the best you'll find anywhere. At $5 per pint, the on-tap Guinness was perfect, as were the burger and side of fries. Varied seating options accommodate couples as well as larger groups. This pub gets busy and noisy on weekend nights and throughout the summer and cruise ship tourist seasons, so it's not the wisest choice in the Old Port for a romantic night out on the town. Other than that one drawback, it's well worth a visit anytime to slake a thirst or whet an appetite.

“I Love This Place”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Every time I come, it gets better and better. The stew is still my favorite. Recently sat upstairs for the first time and loved overlooking the water. Good beer list, excellent food. Great location. Love. This. Place.

“I'll be back”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Had dinner and some drinks here with my wife and her cousin. Fantastic fish and chips, and the Guinness was just right (correct temperature and pour). I had to have 3 or 4 just to be sure ;-}. It seemed like more of an authentic Irish pub than a chain. Dark warm wood walls and furniture, high ceilings, great pubby decor, real live Irish waitresses! I highly recommend it. The only thing close to a complaint was that there was a band (girl playing violin, and a sampler doing the rest), but it was so loud that we could barely have a conversation, and we were on the opposite side of the restaurant. The music was good, just a bit loud, to the point that it was muffled in the fairly small room. Probably more of an issue for the musician than the restaurant. I'll be back
