We were meeting a friend here, and our Onstar GPS directed us SO Wrong, and then Wrong again...It is Portland Square, not Portland Street, which is the location of the unemployment Office, a totally different part of town. We kept driving in circles until Onstar finally called Walters, and the maitre d" stood on the street, cell phone in hand, and directed us into the parking lot. They even validated parking in the lot near the restaurant....We really felt like VIP's.

We all had fish tacos($12 each) and loved them, plus assorted coffees and $9 desserts (pricey but delicious). We stayed for hours and enjoyed everything.

This was okay but not worth the price. Started with crap cakes which were divine but followed with a chicken under brick which was okay but left me hungry...small portions. My wife even left hungry which never happens.

This is the second of two restaurants we ate at this year in Portland and although David's was very good this restaurant is better overall. The food was a notch above David's in taste, variety and presentation. The appetizer scallops were so good I was tempted to order another one simply because it was so delicious. The service if friendly and professional. The desserts were all good. The setting is very nice. Be aware that this is a very popular spot and quite busy on weekends. so reservations are a must. If you only have time for one meal in Portland have it here.

On our infrequent visits to Portland, we always make sure to have a nice dinner at Walter's. They moved to swanky new location several years ago and brought with them their wonderful cuisine. I wish they could have retained the intimate feel of the old place but understand a larger place is great for business. The food is a bit pricey but well worth it.
